Pov: moments before 5 rerolled keystones
i thought vortex was one of the decent ones. But if you get vibechecked by sultan mc cloudfuck you are kinda done for
Its actually my favourite, I really enjoy the boss design. The last boss I just a pretty rough dps check.
I thought I would hate Altairus, but he's actually pretty fun. Though I imagine casters feel much differently lol
I really didn't like having to learn the mechanics this week with boss tornadoes + affix tornadoes, I'm sure next week (fort) it will seem free, and by next 2 week, upcoming tyr with 2 more vaults + overal gear, it will seem perfectly fine.
if only it didnt take my group 5 wipes to learn the new mechanic lol. The one dude that knew i explained it by "use the boosters to jump over the rings", i was looking for a "booster" to no avail.. until i realized he meant the tornadoes.
VP is pretty nice for everyone but the healer.
2nd boss demands especially much of the healer. (Or a group that is good at using their own survivability abilities when the healer is in a bad spot)
3rd boss, the healer difficulty can be managed by good DPS who switch to the add and kill it quickly, but still requires a decent amount of healing.
I swear my ret pally turns into a cheap holy pally on all these boss fights. Maybe it's just trying to push a key up with pugs who aren't geared enough because it hasn't been just this dungeon that I've been "healer lite".
This is partly why I like playing Prot Paladin. being able to throw a quick heal (or even LoH) on a squishy DPS during heavy AoE damage seems to be an invaluable tool at this point in the season.
Can just mind control the adepts and keep it throught final boss. He does like 30k hps
after the first set of nerfs it actually looks quite decent. there are still possible nerfs to come but they wont be big IMO,
the two spread out star trash packs might need nerfs but fortified week will show it
VP is easily my least favorite key to pug, I hate ending the second fight with just me and the tank every time because I can’t heal through mechanics on that fight, and the dps has to have great single target on the last fight
The second boss can be kind of a pain. Sucks ass to have to adjust so much as a caster because you have to move somewhere you can face the boss with the wind at your back. Just feels like a ton of random movement.
😄
Let me guess, your group htaes Vortex Pinacle, and kept doing whatever key wasn't VP, until that was the last option available?
Nah it's fine we played a 19 and rerolled all others, but it was funny af
This kind of happened with my group last night. Got tons of NL because screw that place with my all melee dps group. And when I opened my box today?
NL
You can do /key(s)? and get all the keys form guild and group without having that WA if you have details.
I know but it's a old habit :D
Honestly, I prefer the WeakAuras responding to !keys. Details! opens a new window that has to be closed and the command is literally the same.
Fair. The problem with !keys is that if people don't have the WA it won't work.
I was about to say that /keys also only works if people are using Details!, but who am I kidding - everyone's using it now.
Yea. That's the catch. Almost everyone uses it
I don't have the WeakAura and I still respond to !keys. I didn't even know there was a WeakAura for that.
A new window.. the horror!!
Why are you acting like they’re blowing it out of proportion? They just said why they prefer one option over the other.
Its a joke? Obviously it aint a big deal either way like ..
!keys requires nothing after execution and give me exactly what I need to know: the keys of my current group.
/keys requires closing a window after execution and doesn't give me anything over !keys in most cases.
I guess in a larger guild /keys is very beneficial but in my small guild, it's practically pointless.
let me use astralkeys in peace 😭 !keys has kept me from pugging more this szn than ever before
That place on 20 was brutal this week, the damn drake boss hurt so badly.
Honestly I thought the last boss was worse than the dragon. The adds are so brutal and the static cling is very unforgiving.
My group found the last boss worse than the dragon at +20, at least
original VP: die because static cling rooted you to the floor and he murders you with his storm
M+ VP: die because static cling murders you
Yea last boss everyone has to play perfect and it's very unforgiving. If even 1 person does you can't kill the add in time causing a full wipe
Yes, definitely. Did my weekly no leaver 20 earlier today and we killed the dragon boss at about the 30 minute mark, and the last boss at 1hr 42 minutes. So many wipes on that last boss. We ended up having everyone save all of their CDs for the adds and it was still super rough getting them down with everyone up.
You were in there for almost 2 hours?? Damn that sounds like hell. Props for actually completing it though.
Timed our 20, 2nd boss is about having CDs when you go up and helping healer recover if needed, otherwise it's pretty easy. Last boss is the hard part, adds slaps and people need to save their CDs for when they spawn and use their defensiven when chain lightning occurs during adds.
Next week i imagine trash will be a horror show early on though. Quite a few mobs in there that slapped on tyrannical even
I find static cling to be easier to deal with. I think people forgot u can jump when the cast finishes so u don't get slowed. Which is fun but lucky I am a pally so freedom of movement.
laughs in mass dispel
laughs in mass dispel doesn't prevent the damage taken and that's what actually kills
Slows the team, makes add harder/slower to kill, results in more damage??
I heal that fucken fight and MD makes it a fuckload easier to heal.
As hunter i got every second aoe circle sac from the tank to live while our healer had about 130k hps
Dont know how pugs do that right now
Last boss felt worse than the dragon tbh
VP felt pretty chill at 16, does it ramp up worse than the other dungeons above that level?
it ramps up quickly, drake boss needing 150k+ hps and last boss star adds have a few mil HP and hurt a lot more
last boss star adds have a few mil HP and hurt a lot more
This is so annoying, it's basically a double whammie as the ad both lasts longer and does more dps
drake boss needing 150k+ hps
I just want to say that the drake boss is actually pretty chill on healing if your entire group actually just stands in the right place.
it is when they don't stand in the right place that you need to absolutely pump.
drake boss needing 150k+ hps
No it doesn't. Your group didn't understand the wind mechanic and likely took literal millions in avoidable damage.
It did before the nerf. The passive damage is insanely high - you can't tank the wind very long because you'll just die anyway. Feels a lot like court second boss
you can't tank the wind very long because you'll just die anyway.
Of course. You're not meant to. As soon as the wind shifts you need to know where to go asap. It can be confusing at first but it shouldn't take that long to understand.
When people do these same keys with another 15-ish ilvls, they'll be able to sit downwind plenty, right now people are still 420ish and they're in 18-20 keys and are surprised they have to avoid the avoidable damage.
Depends a little bit. As a range the first and last boss are kinda chill, while the drake is turbo bad, my melee Friends hate the first boss with a passion and payphone at the drake.
At 19 the add at the last boss is dangerous, but we seem to have a good damage profile for it so it kinda works out (fury, havoc, frost mage). I still would say nelths lair is way worst, also some in the other nelth are bad. Vortex seems like middle of the pack for us.
Tell your melee mates that the lightning orbs on first boss travel in a C shape, they're incredibly easy to dodge without losing uptime if you dodge the closest part of the arc before it gets in range, and then you can move to the location of the peak of the arc and dodge a couple more before you have to move back in again
It's an awesome mech because it's predictable unless you lose track of it, so you're rewarded for planning ahead
DH is legit unfun on that fight regardless because 2 of our abilities (one being a fury generator) launches us into the boss.
It has nothing to do with the lightning balls. Its just that as havoc fel blade and hunt land you in the bosses hit box. Add momentum and storming to the mix...
Source: Am in OPs group.
Ah, you're a demon hunter, the bane of hit registration
Yeah. Once u understand the fight on the first boss it is quite easy as melee. Or u can have like a decade of experience Lvling and have done VP more then u ever care about
I think VP last boss difficulty really depends on your comp. It's hard but doable with decent burst dps on the adds or dps with leech or good defensives. I did it with a Hunter once and we needed Sac and Spellwarding for them to survive oberlaps with add and chain lightning. I think the boss took us 7ish tries on a 20, but we fot there in the end.
VP is super chill, did a 20 and assumed we wouldnt time it, so spent extra time marking mobs in the pulls and shit, ended up depleting by 15 seconds because we missed count somehow
definitely couldve been a couple minutes under timer comfortably, even more now that we know the dungeon
Its incredible that you managed to miss count haha
Rule of thumb, the only mobs I skip is the second icy chill dragon and the void pats before the second boss, every other mob dies
yeah idk we were literally 419/420, very unfortunate because it takes so long to find a new mob to kill from the end of that dungeon
Yeah, no scattered trash at the end there. Its a great dungeon on clean runs, but if shit goes wrong it's really tough to recover.
Definitely one of my favourites though as a healer, it's a real test of your reflexes
yeah there should really be 3-4 more (easiely skippable) pack in there to alloe for some variance
I would just kill everything. No chance of missing count unless u are on the edge of timing it.
You need to make sure you have good burst dps options. I attempted a 16 on Wednesday with 2 shadow priests and we couldn’t kill the last boss due to the adds.
Shadow dps is pretty good there
They have void torrent for every second spark so they just need to not use it on the same spawn
Void torrent isnt nearly enough damage. Even pooling insanity for 2 dp's doesnt feel like enough. The add has so much hp and SP has so little burst its a feelsbadman
This is real. Even on a 16 my aimed shots felt like I was using a peashooter on that thing ugh
Shadow is more than fine there and with burst in general, both VP and BH have been done with sp on a 22, both dungeons where you need burst on last boss.
Blizzard: sometimes the hand of fate must be forced
Must have a god healer to survive all the unavoidable damage on those big keys.
The fact that they're ascending level wise from 18 to 22, but aren't in order is such a missed opportunity.
Damn, you got friends?
something weird happened to me, I did Uldaman and gave me underroth, did it, then it gave me uldaman again, did it again… gave me freehold, then it gave me uldaman as well, i was like wtf. then did it, and gave me Neltharions lair 21, fuck that key too
My friends group ended all at 20-21 vortex. We are refusing to do it right now because the bosses are just straight mechanical vomit and not fun
Ez keys
Get this man to a casino
I know blizzard wants healers to heal that why they do these changes lately but being forced to have 150k hps in a + 17 is unacceptable. The difficulty to fun ratio for healers is way too high. As a tank you have to know the route which is easy once you've done it once so that's a non issue. You have to interrupt and dodge mechanics. As a dps ypu have to do the same.
The healer has to do that and heal insane amounts of healing at the same time it becomes literally overwhelming even for people who's been doing nothing but heal the last 5 years.
Alot of these new mythic have legit unavoidable damage being part of the main healing difficulty which is horrible mechanic. Either blizzard needs to force roles in mythic if that's what they're trying to do with all this damage or nerf the unavoidable damage more cause as it stands you'd reach the numerical barrier much sooner in S2 than S1
being forced to have 150k hps in a + 17 is unacceptable.
If the healer can reach 150k hps, then a mechanical failure happened and it has nothing to do with the healing requirement.
If Talondras enrages - you failed, you die. It's not a healing requirement.
If you sit downwind of Altairus a lot - you failed, you die. It's not healing.
If you let Narraxas eat adds - you failed, you die.
If you take many stacks on Wratheye - you failed, you... you get my point.
In not a single one of my timed 18s did a healer do 100k on a boss much less 150k yet on reddit I constantly hear about these ridiculous "required" healing.
It's bullshit.
I don't know Anyone in my guild that got a TVP key this week, and I sure as heck wasn't gonna pug one LOL. SO it's the only key i've not done this week lol.
You gonna be pro's after this, for this specific dungeon 😂
Gratz!!
That healer better get rainsong that’s all I’m saying
O wow did they start a new season ? I have not played since the game got boring around march.
Nothing escapes the
MawVortex.
