So when is the best time to avoid children?

Question

Day #1 has been a nightmare already. Smoking in the ladies locker room. "No girl it's totally okay it's a vape"-One of them. One fight almost broke out between two boys over weights cause one group was not moving and taking over that part... And the screaming in the locker rooms..

Like is it cause it's day one or does it settle down? Should I freeze till it's over be cause I have never been so annoyed at the gym. It's usually a nice peaceful time. Today was hell.

I feel bad for all the employees having to run around and pick up the trash that they didn't make into the trashcan inches away and having to break up the fight and asking multiple groups not to scream across the gym. All the adults looked annoyed. I feel bad for the rare good ones that the bad ones are making you all look bad.

Entirely gym dependent. I've never seen anyone in my gym that appears under 20s, but it's basically in a strip mall that you have to drive to.

Got to my gym at about 4:45 yesterday. Packed with teens and no parents in sight. I had prayed they wouldn’t do the summer free thing again, but no such luck. Hoping it isn’t so bad once the novelty wears off again.

I go between 5 and 630 am and people don’t really start trickling in until after 6

445AM is my favorite time to go anyways...

It seems like kids have their own kids here at my local one , I anticipate a baby crying any day now

I didn’t see one person under the age of at least 25 today when I was there.. maybe try a different gym?

I'd guess before 11 am

Yeah, it's like high school in my gym. We come to strengthen/lose weight. Not stand in the way and talk for an hour. It's pretty annoying but what can you do?

Sounds like the area is the issue. I’ve never seen people smoking or fighting at mine. There’s so many locations within a few miles of each other just find a new one

Not where I live unfortunately. Next one is 45 mins away in a bad area. Kinda surprised at the behavior since it is a nicer area. Maybe the kids are just spoiled idk. It was a little better today.

Ah ok maybe since it’s the only pf for miles it’s been designated as the “kids gym” so it’s become a teenage hangout club. I’m sorry that happened but it’s better for kids to be at the gym than elsewhere. I’m assuming you’re in a rural area bc there’s seems to be like 1 pf every 5 miles in my area.

My gym is already packed and has a large population of big-swole types. We get a few teens popping in and out. Aside from some poor gym etiquette, they're well behaved. They usually don't show up consistently though. I'll notice them once or twice, then never again.

Idk if it's because it's crowded, or there's too many people their parents' age, or the big "intimidating" types, but they don't seem to hang out long.

Lol this is why I go early in the morning. After 4pm is really when it starts

I went last night at 11pm and it was fine, if anything slightly slower than usual. Thankfully it seems most teens in my area have a curfew...

As an employee early morning or late evening is the best in my area, kids aren’t waking up before 10:00 in the summer lol around 11 to 5 is a warzone

What time did you go... asking for a friend 🤪. Do the kids go without an adult?

Basic_Spud_OP•

5 pm, a little later than normal but was testing it out.

Edit: not a parent in sight just children of the corn.

No parent is the first mistake. ...Then again as an educator you would be surprised by some of the parents.

Children of the corn 🤣 I just re-read that a few months ago.

I go early, like 5-6am, and there are very few kids there. The staff may be able to tell you what days and times the traffic tends to be low.

Can't wait to live the experience 😬

Yes the whole point of the program is that 14-19 year olds can go without a parent

18/19 year olds need parents to go to the gym, aye?

1
typicalcAnAdAiAnMod/ Employee•

Nope because at least in Canada your considered an adult

Right so why did you say 14-19 year olds when 18-19 year olds… are allowed to go to the gym without?

I think you have to go before lunch time. Teens come in to my gym usually around 12-1pm and leave by 2. But are back again by 3.
