Best boba besides taro?
I love taro, but what other boba tea flavors should I try? I want to try some new flavors but there are so many options! What are your favorites!

Mine are almond, coconut and thai tea.

What fruit do you like? Get that.
For most people I’d recommend stuff like Mango Green tea, Jasmine Green tea, standard black milk tea, thai tea etc. Maybe brown sugar and regular black milk tea.
If you regularly drink regular tea, do you like oolong, green or black tea? If not, maybe just check out a recommendation from the shop.
Also mix and match toppings. Black pearls, clear pearls, popping pearls, jelly, pudding, chia/basil seeds, more. Generally I order black pearls and coconut jelly.
If you’re not too germaphobic get a friend or sibling and swap drinks (same straw) midway to try as many flavours as possible.
Also, different shops specialise in different things. As another commenter said, some places do actual taro instead of the powder. Taro isn’t my favourite but it’s good, I like shops that do a mix of real and powder. Some places do really good standard milk teas, some places like Tiger Sugar and Xing Fu Tang specialise in brown sugar. Gong cha here in Australia has a flavour called Mango Alisan that I will keep ordering at Gong Cha.

I drink black tea a lot. I’m a huge fan of Earl grey! Is there much of a taste difference between Thai tea and black milk tea? I like green tea a lot too. Haven’t gotten to try oolong yet, but it sounds good!

Brown sugar is amazing. When i was in NYC gong cha in queens had the best brown sugar boba . Tiger tea’s brown sugar is good but not as good, but I’ll take what I can get down south, which isn’t much unless you realllyyy like fried chicken lol

Lmao I’m in the south too so I feel that

My go to milk teas are thai tea (black tea), thai green tea (jasmine tea) and I get those with grass jelly instead of tapioca. Rose milk tea and hokkaido tea are also really good. A strawberry milk tea is also good if it’s listed that the strawberry purée is made in house!
If you want to switch it up, some fruit teas that I like are strawberry green tea, passion fruit jasmine tea, lychee oolong and they usually come with their own set of toppings (usually jelly or popping boba)

All of those sound so good!!

Honestly I usually just get the jasmine green tea

My go to is a Matcha latte with boba, I also really like Mango Green tea and most recently tried a Grapefruit Green Tea and it was really good!

I know it’s sort of basic but I love brown sugar milk tea with the tapioca pearls. Instead of regular milk I get oat milk. Not because of any intolerance reasons just tastes better to me. And it’s a must to add the cheese (mousse) foam which has dairy but does not matter to me for this in particular.

Caesar's Palace Buffet in Las Vegas apparently created a fusion of this and this, which I definitely thought was odd at first.
I came to find out because my friend is the buyer for the buffet and works closely with their chefs, pastry chefs, and beverage/baristas... I figured, well if a casino in Vegas is serving that up, it must be a pleasing combination / flavor.
Anyhow, it is a fusion of Horchata and Taro.. You can come up with your own ratios, but the secret they are going by is 1.5 to 3, respective to the above mentioned flavors. Also the links are for the same ingredients.
Interesting Flavors:
Sakura, Pandan Coconut, and definitely Masala Chai is new one that is literally one of the best I've come across after many years of searching / buying.
Hope this helps! =]

Have you had the ones made with real taro, yet? It is a white paste with hints of purple. Best flavor.
Thai iced tea is another brilliant flavor.
Red bean and black sesame are also great.
Fruitier flavors like mandarin are great with grass jelly instead of Boba.
Oooh all of that sounds so good!!!
