Anyone know the name of the app which can turn the screen off without locking the screen?
For example, some game data downloads get cancelled if you lock the screen. That was the purpose of the application.

I use Extinguish but you need shizuku for this other option are Fakestandby this app don't need shizuku but didn't work on my redmi.

Fakestandby working perfectly for me. Thanks. I was a huge Redmi fan since 2014 but boycotted them in 2018. Lots of anti consumer bs in terms of sales strategy and even spare parts used in the devices.

By spares which wasn't probably the right term to use, i meant parts that can be replaced. Redmi phones have a bad history of motherboard failures, but it's at its worst now.

Hi, you must distinguish between "display off" and "device locked". These are different things.
With Tasker (or similar apps) you can set "lock_screen_lock_after_timeout" e.g. to 4 hours.
That means: After display is getting off, the device will not be locked fortsetzen 4 hours.
And because it's Tasker, you can set it for custom situations automatically. I use it at home and in car, when there is no need toll lock the device.
