Accurate Vitals for NREMT

NREMT

Hey y'all anyone know where to find the accurate vital signs that are safe to follow for the NREMT? Many sources vary by 10 beats per min or by 5 breaths per min. Just wanted to check how much it matters!

Refer to your textbook.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never had a question where the deciding factor was within a common sense margin of error.

It’s never been “oh well if the HR was 98 instead of 102 I would have picked B.” The vitals are generally well within accepted ranges instead of right on the cusp.

Your book should have it (including for pediatrics)- that’s the best source as NREMT exam is essentially based on publications like approved textbooks.

For adults: HR: 60-100 RR: 12-20 Temperature: 98.6 F (usually +/- 1 degree or so) Systolic BP: 100-140 (sometimes 90 or 160 as limits) Diastolic BP: 60-90 End Tidal: 35-45 pH: 7.35-7.45
