You're telling me you took your car to a certified Mazda dealer, with a certified service shop with certified Mazda techs for an actual full inspection, told them about the issues you were having, and they missed 2 broken axels and a faulty differential? Either they're not doing their job or they're trying to kill you, either way they let parts showing signs of wear fully break which ruined your car. I would've fucking sued.

No- I took it to a place that WASN’T a Mazda dealership for the first time ever- from February to June - and despite my concerns they ignored me. When I lost my marbles- they took it down road to the “sister” Mazda dealership who found the issues immediately. I thought my husband knew what he was doing - and maybe - since no one else was hearing what I was hearing it was nothing. I am a nurse not a mechanic.. but by the end I knew something -despite everyone ignoring me was not right. It was the state inspection- which I had mistakenly thought was thorough and related to human safety.

Ah I see. Just a tip for you; I know dealer prices are high but they're specialized professionals for their brand of vehicle. You should take your vehicle to them for anything that's beyond simple fluid changes if your husband doesn't do them. And always get a second opinion on the quote/advice that the dealership gives you because even though they are professionals, at the end of the day they're also a business trying to make money and may upsell you on unnecessary services.

Owning a car really is such a hastle nowadays if you don't work on them yourself or if you don't have a trusted mechanic.

Anyways, nice new car! And thank you for your service as a nurse.

My husband was a sales manager at a Mazda dealership- I always took my car there. He changed jobs to a different type of car- and started taking our cars there. I didn’t think anything of it.. but NOW I know better and will only take it to a Mazda dealer no matter what.

THANK YOU!!!

Whoah what happened with the 2017? Can you give more details?

Sure- but- don’t eat me alive! I am not a car expert and I relied on my husband to make decisions along the way that may or may not have been good!

It had 158k miles on it and I use it for long highway drives for work. In February it started making this swoosh swoosh swoosh sound in the back passenger side at moderate speeds. My husband drove it, didn’t hear it. My son drove it, didn’t hear it. He took it in to shop- they didn’t hear it. It, of course gets worse. Then it starts making a creaking sound when you backed up while turning. It’s happening all the time. No one can recreate it even though it’s making me nuts. Oil changes- whatever- everyone thinks I must be crazy. Finally- June comes my inspection is due - they’ll figure it out. I’ll get my brakes done. She’ll come back good as new. Nope. Passes inspection. All new brakes. Tires rotated. Blah blah. They didn’t find anything. The brake job was terrible.. super soft, the noises are worse than ever. He says, it takes a few days for them to adjust. Ok but I am furious. They don’t get better. I have my husband take it back. He HEARS nothing, he says they “forgot to close the bleeders” and the mechanic can’t hear any clanging or swoosh swoosh swoosh. I am out of my mind at this point. I make him get in the car and take him to an empty parking lot. The whole time there - I am trying to get him to hear the swoosh swoosh - he says can’t hear it…. I pull forward and back into a spot - viola CLaNG WHINe clanG! He looks at me and says- “You have been driving around like that?? “ Anyway- I didn’t murder him or anything but I thought about it. On the way home he says- that sound?? The cha cha cha cha ? That’s bad. I don’t know how I didn’t end up in jail. Anyway- next morning he calls me and says- “Something I have bad news- you have 2 broken axles and the rear differential needs to be replaced. The master cylinder(s)? is/are leaking that’s why the brakes are so soft… “ and then I tuned him out because I was so furious. Why didn’t they see all this the previous week and the time before that? and the time before that?

To be fair- it wasn’t looked at the Mazda dealer I went to without issue until my husband stopped working there because he switched jobs. I COULD have fixed it. But, that sweet baby 2017 owed me nothing, I owned it outright and as much I loved her.. it was time. I got a good trade for her and walked away with the CE below book because I am sleeping with the sales manager. Also, I want to take a flame thrower to the shitty service department and the owner knows it.
