Rift S - sensors cannot track headset

Hi all.

After years of gathering dust, and with time on my hands, I want to see what the Rift S is capable of these days.

I did the whole creating a Meta account as that now appears to be policy.

Did a clean install of Rift software (I was previously using this on a different, lower specced PC, so I know there aren't any old drivers or software causing a problem.

I've rebooted my PC and the Rift a handful of times now, but nothing doing.

Looking online, others have experienced the same error message, but theirs was remedied by either making sure the required permissions for the camera and microphone were enabled in Windows, which they were, and I've also disabled USB select suspend.

All software. all drivers on my machines are bang up to date. PC isn't top of the range but scores the maximum Steam VR test thing - has 16GB decent RAM, a Radeon rx 6650 with a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU. Both the CPU and GPU (actually the RAM has too) have been slightly overclocked, not that I believe would help me in this situation.

Finally, I have tried using different USB and DisplayPort ports.

I'm stumped! Please may I ask for any thoughts or suggestions on this matter, please?

Is it the connections that aren’t working? Like, the app is saying “plug in x cable” or something? It’s hard to know without a picture, but I had this issue and switch to specific ports helped me, but I read it could be a power issue. The headset might be trying to draw more power then it can get. Which can be remedied by unplugging other things I believe

hello! thanks for this reply.

The software recognises the Rift is connected, it just fails the sensors part of the setup.

When I initially picked it up. I had zero issues whatsoever.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to link to an image. The following is what I'm seeing:

I know I’ve had an issue with the sensors from a lack of light but I’m honestly not sure. Maybe try wiping all the cameras/sensors or try new batteries?
