Tax 1 is TN sales tax+ a .25% county tax. So all TN sales tax is really 9.25%. Tax2 is the tax of grocery items I believe which is slightly lower than the normal tax.
Case closed!
Tax 1 = state 7% + county 2.25%
Tax 2 = state grocery tax 4% + county 2.25%
That’s it, couldn’t remember the exact amounts, should have googled it my bad.
The normal taxis 9.25%. Looks like some of your items were taxed at a lower rate 6.25. %. I don’t work in retail anymore and I’m not sure what that is but normally the tax on $237.02 would be $21.92. So count your blessings.
General merchandise - 7% TN state, 2.25% Hamilton County. Food and ingredients 4% TN state, 2.25% Hamilton County. So - 9.25% and 6.25%.
