Switch version keeps crashing

Is this problem known to the devs and are they working on it or? I just get kicked out of nearly every single game, Switch keeps talking about a software error and just shuts smite off, returning me to switch menu.

It's not that, they just don't care man. People leave every conquest game and this is the first time I've said this. Sorry, I noticed smite wasn't being even thought about by hi rez when I logged on in early S8. The graphics are broken, kind of sad.

Sorry to hear that

Yes I noticed the bad graphics as well, thought it was just me but apparently it’s an issue, and at least one afk player per game (probably not their fault but their game crashing as well)

Nah dude, I think people just leave. Even thought I crash now since S10. People leave every game and it's kinda insane, this is the first time it's happended to me constantly.

Also the game is free to play, you are more than welcome to not play it on the switch. You selling your PS4 to get a switch is down to your judgement not theirs.

You’re right if they wanna publish broken software it’s on them but then expecting to still make profits off of it by pooping out more skins every month is beyond delusional, which results in a downwards spiral: the more it crashes, the more players will just avoid spending money on it or just stop playing on the switch platform completely. How is losing the entire platform base more profitable than fixing it first?

I probably wasn't broken when it was made, its most likely still online due ot user licensing, a company wouldn't announce their product to be bad and not to use it. But yeah the switch is bottom of their list of issues, players spend money on the PC/next gen console verisons of the game not switch. Trust me it would cost alot more trying to fix it, the game is on an old engine and it need a revamp they run on unreal engine 3 something made back in 2000. Hi Rez isnt a big company im comparison to other big dogs in the market.

They are taking their other games off switch because they probably don’t find it profitable to work on them.

Smite on switch will probably follow the same path unless they’re getting a ton of skin sales from it.

They can shove skin sales up their twat, how about providing updated & working software before thinking of profits

Hirez is a company. The only thing they think about is profit

Not sure how they’re planning on making profits if their product doesn’t work to begin with, like how would there be an incentive to spend money on anything in the switch version. Like even going through the store or chests makes the game crash, it just brings me back to switch home menu every time.

I mean if you repeatedly buying skins on a broken platform on switch thats on you, the switch is just a gloried cash grab that and spaghetti code wont let them fix it. If it runs poorly on consoles and struggles on PC youre gonna bet your wish that it wont work on the switch.

Switch is probably like less than 10% of the playerbase and not all of them even spend money. To hirez they would lose more money by fixing it than if everyone on switch stopped playing.

It must be something new in season 10, since that’s when it got really bad. Probably gonna uninstall until it gets fixed, if it ever will

If you look up this question you’ll find an other Reddit thread dating with the same issue about 3years back I believe, been going on for a while sadly and no true answer as to why

I get that they clearly do not intend to invest the needed resources into the Switch version to make it an acceptable product, but it's upsetting and absurd to have it there and push all the micro transactions like skins while the game hasn't been in a functional state for a minimum six months (this is a very generous definition of functional). If you don't intend to support the Switch version long term, sunlight it already. Stop telling people they can play it on the platform and buy in just like anywhere else.

Also, while I understand the limitations of the switch, it can run Smite ffs. This game is far from demanding and the switch has been capable of running plenty of 3rd party games that demand a lot more than Smite. The console is underpowered compared to the others on the market but this continued nightmare of a port says way more about the devs not willing to put in the work than anything.

I was a mainly Switch user. I’ve dealt with crashes often. Maybe every 3-4 matches, right after the God Selection screen. I had to abandon my main account of 7 years playing to join the PlayStation crowd. There have been many posts here on this Subreddit that got deleted. Clear sign, HiRez don’t give a damn about this being a problem plaguing a major part of it’s fanbase.

It's a feature now. Prevents you from playing too much. See it as a positive.
