New Linkind Matter RGBTW bulbs appear as white only in HA

I have just got in a set of these Linkind bulbs to test and it doesn’t appear they are supported properly in Home Assistant: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHRZFJDN

When I query them in the Developer Tools section I see only these options:

supported_color_modes: - brightness friendly_name: Smart RGBTW Bulb supported_features: 0 color_mode: brightness brightness: 255

Within the Google Home app these bulbs support On/Off, Brightness, White color tuning, and RGB colors. Is this something new to do with how Matter is supported in HA or is something else wrong that I missed? I have also posted this over on the HA forums but thought that I might get a wider set of eyes on this issue here.

Any takers?

Got the same results. Worked in Google and Homekit but seems like HA doesn't have support for the device yet. I didn't have any luck sharing the devices from HA to other controllers either. I returned them and will try again later.

I would be interested to know if support has improved.

I'm still going back and forth with Linkind support on this. They claim that the bulbs should work but I find that they do not. In my case, the bulbs have problems on all of the systems (Google, Amazon, HA) that I have tried, so at least in my situation it isn't Home Assistant's fault.

Their latest guess is that IPv6 isn't working correctly on my network. So I'm off to run down that rabbit hole and see if I can figure out if this is a real issue or not.

Is it possible the current Matter protocol does not support the color feature?

In the Google/Homekit, are the light bulbs registered as a Matter device or as a Wi-Fi device? Maybe they show full features because they are registered as a Wi-Fi device.

I would like to buy these only if they work properly in HA.

Thx

These are Matter devices, for sure. They only occasionally show up and work fully in either Google Home or Amazon Alexa apps.

I was recently told by someone working for/with Nabu Casa that I should consider Matter support to be beta, and that things won't always work. That's not all that comforting to hear, but that's what they shared. Given how flakey Matter seems to be across my home network I suppose it has a while before it is stable from any vendor.
