Questions for Trip
I’ll be in Abu Dhabi for 8 days for Yourh IMMAF World Championships. I’ll be staying at a nice hotel that has breakfast and dinner but it’s not free. In UAE, is street food or grocery stores for cost efficient than hotel meals? Any information about grocery markets I should go to? Is street food generally safe? What are some good restaurants in Abu Dhabi, what are some foods I NEED to try. I’ll be out there in August, so I’m not sure how it will be. What attire should I prepare?

Street food via delivery (such as Talabat) averages from 30 to 50 AED a meal, grocery stores would be the cheapest option especially if you have a little kitchen, assuming the championship will be held at the JJ Arena and your hotel probably be in that area, Carrefour is close by and it has everything, it’s huge. Lulu is quite equal and both available everywhere. Street food generally are safe, the food and health authority here is very strict,
I would avoid the little cafes though.
You have to try the shawarma (carrefour and Lulu have it) but the best ones are the Lebanese and Syrian grill restaurants, Lebanese Flower is one of the best. (Hummus shawarma plate, have it with bread) chef kiss
You will be here in the hottest month of the year plus the humidity, get light clothes, shorts and T-shirts, any sort of hat or a cap to protect your head from the sun, it’s air-conditioned everywhere indoors so you won’t be out in the sun a lot, unless you wanted to go for a walk. Feel free if you have any other questions.
It will be in the Mubadala Arena. Do you know the best restaurants and stores or activities in that area?
Same arena, Im not sure of any restaurants within walking distance but Cheese Shawarma is about 3 minutes by taxi.
