'05 G35 6MT project car rabbit hole. VQ35DE RevUp Engine rebuild.

First post didn't post with the text so remade it.

SO. I bought a '05 G35 6MT from my buddy( first and only owner) dead in the water. literally. locked motor from driving through a puddle and hydro locking the motor(verified for the most part.) got it for $800 and the idea was to swap a VQ engine in and get it up and running. Realized after its a RevUp engine and any decently priced engines come with 120-180k+ miles on it.

I'm 2 months from ASE certification and have torn down engines before so i decided on a rebuild since it'll cost me roughly the same, the heads and block have 78k miles and i can upgrade parts inside the engine for any potential ponyboys i want to achieve with it later. Pretty dead set this is the route I'm going unless it gets de-railed with any logic/info found here.

Parts i currently plan on buying:

-Z1 engine rebuild kit level 2

-Z1 Master hose silicone set

-Timing chain kite w/ sprocket

-OEM front timing chain gasket kit

The goal: Repair the engine with any parts REQUIRED to get it running, but also upgrade any parts i would need to in order to achieve more horsepower that would be easier accessed while the engines out of the car, so I don't have to pull and tear the engine apart again down the road.

The rabbit hole: what else do I replace when I'm in there?

oil gallery gaskets?

rear timing cover seals?

VTC Solenoids?

engine bearings?

water pump/oil cooler?

camshafts?

lifters?

main bearings?

I've got NO experience with rebuilding engines or modding a vehicle for higher horsepower. also no experience with the VQ35DE RevUp. so i've been researching parts to upgrade internally and common fails of the engine itself before making a post here. but looking for any information on things to look out for, compatibility issues between the RevUp and Non RevUp engines, parts to swap, common fails or recommendations during the rebuild. any information or links y'all have would be beyond helpful.

TLDR: bought hydrolocked '05 G35 6MT with plan to rebuild. looking for any information/hints/tips on things to look out for, part compatibility issues y'all have seen, links, posts, books with any good information about the '05 G35 in general. As well as what i should swap while the engines out. Thanks in advanced.
