[1798] Plague Doctor (Ch 1)

Hello all!

I've written creatively on and off for a few years now but this is the first time I'm ever sharing my work publicly so both excited and scared.

This is the first chapter of a Historical Horror Fiction novel I'm currently working on and am looking for some feedback. Story will be dual POV and the first chapter introduces one of the characters (Priest). The other main character is a plague doctor who doesn't get introduced until the second chapter. This is not the title I will be sticking with, it's just a placeholder for now.

Basically looking for generic critique for a new writer and want to know if you would/wouldn't keep reading and why.
