2x 4k monitors, >60hz via one thunderbolt

I am trying to get two new 32" 4k monitors that I'll power from my Macbook Pro M1 Max through one thunderbolt cable. I know the limit for 2x4k over TB3/4 is 60hz, but if I run them at 3008x1692 scaled resolution does that make a difference? Can I achieve a higher refresh rate with scaled resolutions? Thanks

Welcome! If you're looking for a monitor, here are the most frequently recommended taken from reddit posts. List last updated June 2023

24in 1080p 144hz -

» LG 24GN650-B - IPS, fast response time, 144hz, HDR10. Best bang for the buck right now, unless the AOC 24G2 is in stock

1440p 144hz

» LG27GP850-B - IPS, - Reddit favorite mid-range monitor. Contrast is ok. Best combo of performance and value.

Ultrawide 1440p 144hz

» LG 34GP83-AB - IPS, one of the fav on reddit. If you have extra budget, see Samsung Odyssey G9 to get 140hz and 49 in

4K

» BenQ EX2710U – 4k, 144hz, poor HDR. For better 4k gaming, see GIGABYTE M32U or LG 27GN950-B
