Ronnie is generally an emotional guy. He used to hangout with Howie all the time and have direct access to him. Now, the era has passed and he's had to pass on the torch. He feels left out.
He looks very old and frail here btw. Bums me out to see him like this.

Yeah. Ronnie seems like an all around good dude and keenly aware of his own mortality. I guess part of that might be because of the age difference in the relationship. He really does seem to care for Stephanie but he knows, mathematically, she will spend a considerable amount of her life without him. And he's said as such on multiple occasions.
I fuckin love Ronnie and I hope he doesn't get completely cast aside like the rest as Howard crawls deeper and deeper into his own ass.

Nobody is going to confuse Ronnie with a rocket scientist but he's one of the only guys who kept in touch with the untouchables after they left the Stern show. Against orders, I might add.

I knew Ronnie had a big heart when KC came unannounced to satellite a broken mess and Ronnie cried as he lead him out of the studio. He's a good guy.
