Dress shirts that wont make you melt in the kitchen

My partner works in a red lobster and just started manager training. I want to help find some dress shirts (have to be long sleeve) that wont be awful when i know he ends up working in the kitchen when they are in the weeds.

Do any of you have fabric suggestions or a go-to shirt that will be at least tolerable?

Thank you for any help you are able to offer.

Cotton is going to be the best fabric, especially for breathabily in warmth.

It depends. Do you really, really like ironing?

I have a pair of linen pants that I really like, but they're such a pain in the ass to reset that I have to do a cost/benefit analysis every time I think about wearing them.

Oh gods no, okay no linen unless he wants to iron

It also depends on how hot it actually gets in there and what station he ends up on. He might find himself in a situation where he needs a good undershirt as well because the dress shirt needs to be removed temporarily.

Make sure the sleeves roll easy, some come with a little button and strap on the inside of the sleeve to fasten it. Form fitting enough to stay in place, but not too tight it's restricting or uncomfortable to roll.

Make sure the color doesn't show off any errant grease or sauce that may sling his way, nobody wants to be on the ass end of the "I wonder if that mustard spot is like ON their nipple, or just next to it" game. I mean, unless you DO, but I digress.

There IS a perfect shirt for this, it just might come from a little trial and error. He's gonna find particular tasks that might mean he needs a longer shirt, or even a different fabric. Hell they might even wanna go with a throw on and off with a matching chef coat or some shit.

Yea he said he will have a chefs coat if he is hopping on the grill. I think he is assuming the dress shirt would have to stay on with it though, not sure its an actual requirement.

Neat idea on the strap, i will keep an eye out for it. Not allowed to do white or black or plaid, and he is keeping an eye on colors for stain hiding (though the first shirt he bought was baby blue)

Thank you so much for the tips!
