Broke the emergency charging port release

Today while charging at the EA station, of course the charger failed upon connecting. It wouldn't release the cable, so I popped the trunk and pulled the charger release...and the whole damned cable ripped from the wall and then didn't release the cable.

Thank the internet for the teaching me about the 3x UNLOCK button on the key fob trick. That worked, but the damage was done.

Anything I can do to put the cable back where it belongs? I think I may have only broken a plastic clip, but not sure.

P.S., Electrify America is trash. Only 2 of the 10 chargers were working, with 1 idle Ford Lightning hogging the good spot.

I charged up 3 different EA stops today on my way home today 480 miles driven and no issues with any of the 3 stops. It's been great for me.

I managed to do exactly the same thing yesterday but at home!

3x didn’t work so I tried the cable and POP now it’s loose behind the cover material. It still boggles my mind that the emergency release is a repurposed dipstick placed behind a quarter-sized hole cut in the upholstery. You couldn’t just put like a nice hood release type lever back there somewhere?

End result? Got back in the drivers seat and locked the doors from the inside, then unlocked and got out and it was fine. Bizarre behavior.

There’s a charger release in the trunk? Thanks for the tip.

On the right side panel, there is a little square in the fabric that you can pull out. Inside is a little yellow dipstick of a ripcord.

Pull with caution I guess?
