Another "How is a footprint like this possible?" Question

Hi all, attached is another screenshot I took from Tradovate. I had a long on and it hit my resting limit sell order, but as you can see there are no bid hits where I sold... so where is my sell order? Is it one of those in the 50 below? (and no I was not in simulator 😂)

You weren't on the bid though. If you had a limit sell order, you were on the ask.

hmmmm so are my colors backwards then? how is a sell order on the ask?

Nope not backwards. Volume on the ask (ask=resting limit sell orders) is green because it requires aggressive/market buying to transact with them. Aggressive buying moves price up... so it's colored green.

On the flip side, volume on the bid (bid=resting limit buy orders) is red because it requires aggressive/market selling to transact with them. Aggressive selling moves price down, so it's colored red.

whoa... so that could be useful information in general! limit sells can actually show up as "asks", and limit sells as "bids"... very interesting

and limit sells as "bids"... v

I think you meant limit *buys as bids

But yep it always works that way. I thought it was backwards at first but quickly realized why it works that way.
