Robyn wanted a zoom call so the discussion could be filmed. I think her and Kody are scrambling for the show to continue so anything that isn't Meri shivering outside her door or a tender first day of school must be exploited for film.

Even in this episode there really wasn't much footage at all. It was just mostly talking heads and flashback photos.
They are running out of content.
They're running out of their content but I know there is plenty more they are letting die out. I'd watch an entire season of TLC om camera poking Kody to call Janelle with a seperate crew filming Janelle living hee best life and looking at her phone occasionally to see her loser ex trying to get paid content.
i think that’s why they had kody and christine at the restaurant - content and to up the spicy factor. neither of them wanted to be there.
Those two together bring the whole show down. We got enough of it last season, and this season it is even more grating.
My husband said “are they going to film the whole show in this Mexican restaurant”. Sadly it looks like a lot of it.

Unrelated, but the flashback photos drive me mad. Robyn’s family is all there… but the rest of them are just a few of the kids. Janelle’s is missing Logan, Hunter and Garrison. Aspyn and Paedon are missing from Christine’s. They couldn’t have taken photos when, I don’t know, everyone was available?

They may have been taken when boys were doing military things. Logan doesn’t really want to be on the show. Aspyn may have been like Logan.

There is plenty of content if they bothered to actually film anything new or catch us up to real time.
That was my first thought too. Pretty ignorant considering a lot of the adult kids are very clear about not wanting to be part of the show at all. Never mind expecting 20 plus people to be able to just jump on a video call because queen Sobyn snapped her finders.

I wonder if that's where the break down started. Her saying they should film it. Some saying "we have stated we don't want to be part.." and then her making it about her kids being rejected so they could all be victims.
That made me so mad. There was no reason for her to explain it to her kids that way. She made it worse and made them feel worse. It had nothing to do with her kids. She made her kids think it was about them. What mother does that.

That would make sense. Given how she manipulated/interpreted this as yet 'another instance of the fahmlee' not accepting her and her older children was that a content conciliation prize? Sobbing about it for five minutes made a plotline/camera time for her. Did anyone else notice the difference in the ways the wives talked about their kids? Robin used 'we' and the other wives used 'the kids think, feel'.
Did you think there is a reason why Robyn stated her older kids were rejected? That text message was bad, and if anyone even hinted that Robyn's kids are not their siblings, it was out of bounds. They are way too old to be behaving that way.
robyn is accusing the kids of never accepting her or her kids but she has also never stopped holding a grudge from her day 1 perceived slights. that’s why she only talks to weirdos mykelti and tony.
It sounds like they all are holding grudges, not just Robyn. I realize this time is pretty raw, and I hope by the tell-all, for each of their sakes, they have developed a better awareness. For example, all their marriages hit rough spots, and things weren't bliss before Robyn. But not some revisions of history are being claimed.
I got really stick on her saying "Some people were willing to make adjustments and be welcoming and a lot that weren't".
So, in Robyn's mind you were welcoming if you adjusted to HER and if you wanted her to adjust to your traditions you were NOT. I mean, even look at the ear ring thing. Robyn had earings but rather than adjusting to their family's traditions she instead manipulates Kody into changing before she'll be at the same place. And then build a business around jewelry and earings.
And she separated her kids from the rest of the family from day 1.
Obs no one has seen the messages. But having watched for so many years...no one freaking excluded Robin's kids. It would really surprise me if anyone said anything to that end. I think Robin has a victim narrative to support. So she sobs about this while also pushing her adult daughter to cater to Kodys stupid 'respect' demands. Which we all know really about control. Also, his stupid 'two-way street' adult-child relationship nonsense. How does that work when you don't respect your kids?

if the og3 kids put robyn’s kids on the text chain, they were trying to include them. if i were an og3 kid and i saw aurora dragging robyn in the text to be annoying, i’d probably tell robyn to butt out and make a blanket statement that if anyone doesn’t want to do this, they could stay at home (at the chateau?) but that i want to participate. i’m guessing the conversation may have gone that way and robyn cried because her kids were being excluded.

Robyn excluded her own kids by coddling them and also she seemed to want them to be treated as equals while not treating the other kids the same way. I can’t remember the episode but they are on a trip and all the OG kids are running around on rocks on this hill and some are climbing. Robyn is having a coronary about her kids possibly getting hurt. All the other kids talked about how she pretty much doesn’t let her kids be kids. Even the OG Moms tell her to chill but she can’t let it go.

I think Robyn is also desperate to portray herself in a positive light for the TV show, because she knows she looks bad. Maybe the kids sensed she was interested in the video chat as a way to perform the role of "good mom" rather than actually working on relationships with the family.

Not only that, but he is such a sweet guy. The way he shows up for family stuff whether it's Ysabel's surgery or going to NC to see Truely, Christine when they dropped off Ysabel. He really cares about his siblings. He's doing great in his personal and professional life.
I don't think Kody or Robyn see how much their drama is a liability to the happiness of these adults. It's not that they don't like Kody and Robyn. It's that the relationship K&R are foisting upon them isn't appropriate.

Her hatred of him started when he didn't jump for joy when she announced she was pregnant with Sol. The poor kid had just been wrenched out of his home, out of his school, away from his friends and was living in a rental in a city he didn't want to be in, he knew money was tight, and that stupid woman decided this was rhe perfect time to add another kid
we had teens when I was pregnant the last time, and I can tell you, they weren't jumping for joy, either. They're teenagers, it's what they do.

I say this with total love - I taught High School briefly, and the teens were not, in general, the reason I left. Teenagers are some of my favorite people on Earth...
But teenagers are ASSHOLES. It is in their job description to be so to their parents. It is how they make it easier on the parents when they move out or go off to college. LOL. Your monster 16 year old might be a delight at school and with other adults.
To expect excitement over a baby when all they've heard is the financial worries over finding permanent homes and jobs was unrealistic. I can't imagine any scenario where teens would jump for joy unless they've been trained to or are strong believers in their faith. I can only see those kids getting excited if it was Meri making the announcement bc the older ones would remember her miscarriage, etc.
Very good points. I always found Robyn’s expectation that the children (teenagers no less) be overjoyed that another child is being brought into an unstable environment…legitimately mental.
I can imagine Robyn fake sobbing over the group text just blowing up message after message and Kody just staring blankly out the window like Jack Nicholson in the shining. Lol

Wish we knew the details of HOW Robyn got involved in the chat to begin with. I'm guessing maybe all moms were added or maybe just Robyn & Christine since Sol, Ari and Truely are still young kids and would need their moms to know about the gift exchange since they're too young to fund & shop for the gifts on their own?
Also wish we knew the details of Robyn's zoom request. Was she asking for them to all get on Zoom right then, to discuss the gift exchange? At a later date? Or had the conversation already gone south and she wanted them to discuss things "in person" rather than via text? Or requesting to plan a zoom call between the kids on Xmas to see each other open their sibling gifts?
I would guess Robyn’s kids were not expecting to go to the vacation rental where the OG kids were all staying and where the gift exchange would probably be taking place.
I can imagine Robyn saying “well we could do the exchange at my house and film it, let’s all get on a group chat” then she can force an apology from whomever so they can join the gift exchange at her house.
Ah yes, I had somehow completely forgotten about the Airbnb rental for Christmas and how many of the kids were planning to be in Flagstaff for Christmas therefore, the gift exchanges would mostly be in-person anyway.
Especially since even Robyn's adult children don't seem capable of making their own decisions and have to be watched every second of every minute by old block head.
I hope the OG kids still got to have their gift exchange and had a nice Christmas get together at the airbnb anyway.

One other thought: a Zoom call can be captured w/o a camera crew in attendance. So they can have something that was technically "filmed" inside Robyn's house instead of on the porch. /smh
