I mean leaving out Cuypers is quite controversial, but at least he has some competition with Lukaku, CDK, Openda and Batshuayi. Vermeeren is a really good player, but no idea where to put him atm.
De Cuyper however is the only full back on the left hand side and after the two legged tie against Osasuna, half of La Liga would take him in a heartbeat.

Such a lack of midfielders. We have De Bruyne, Dendoncker, Mangala out of form or injured but we could have gotten Vermeeren, Lavia or even Keita.

Cuypers fully deserved it to be called up, hopefully he hasn't been overshadowed by Orban because they've both been brilliant. I also hope this is the last time Carrasco gets called up, we have enough talented wingers to replace someone who's gonna go play some ball in Saudi Arabia.

With plenty of young talent being worked into the squad, Carrasco brings the calmness of an experienced player now.
Hopefully, he can make a connection with one of them like he had with Thorgan for a little while.

i'll never understand why national team coaches don't select in form players especially from the national league.
i feel like it's honestly starting to hurt the ability for teams in our league to hold onto good/great belgian players since they keep getting send the message of if u don't go abroad your chances of getting a selection fall by like 50% for some unknown reason.
There's been to many of these to not see it as a pattern.
anyway sucks for cuypers but especially for dse cuyper who doesn't even have direct competition for his position.

Well it’s not for an unknown reason, it’s because the quality and reputation of the Belgian league is not as high compared to many other leagues.

Belgium has always consistently been a top 10 league in Europe. So it's still a solid league with a decent level.

Maybe but it still isn’t a top five league and they’ll always be at least 7-9 leagues above it where other players from there should rightly be considered above the Belgian league

Eh, aside from the 5 big Leagues, there isn't really any other league that is stronger than the Belgian League ( atleast not by much )...
Portugal has stronger topclubs, but the majority of the league is weaker than the Belgian League.
The Netherlands is, overall, similar to the Belgian league, with the only big difference being Ajax.

Well ok, but that still leaves Cuypers, De Cuyper and also Vermeeren who fully deserve a call up.
Especially De Cuyper, he's the first proper LB we've had in so long
the thing is that Tedesco has said or has been known to be experimenting with the national team these first few interland breaks, which is understandable, but when will he select his core players for the NT? and if he's still experimenting, why not call up the players you mentioned? euro 2024 is like 9 months away
