Why did you trigger Saturday? If the follicle was only 15mm on Friday it likely was only 17mm max Saturday and that’s not mature.

Science says it may be mature as long as it’s above 16mm. So if it was max 17mm by Saturday, it would be around 19 or 20 today when I’m supposed to ovulate. So doesn’t seem too far off the desired.

Once you trigger the follicle doesn’t keep growing. 18mm is mature but 22mm is ideal. I’m surprised they had you trigger such a small follicle

What are your sources on that? I actually had a second follicle in the IUI scanning that was not in the run before, so they seemed to grow after as well in this case.

I read a lot more people have the same where it still grows until it ovulates..

Idk if I can post links? I tried before and couldn’t get them to post. Even if they do grow some it’s still not the recommendation to trigger a follicle that isn’t mature. Esp since you can ovulate as early as 12 hrs after trigger.

Hi! I’m a RN in reproductive medicine office (I still don’t know how to fix my own infertility so I’m on this group) we trigger ideally at 20mm, at least 19mm. However I was recently in a pregnancy scan that was twins from a 19mm and 16mm follicle, so those smaller follicles can be pushed into maturity and create a baby😊

I think in this clinic they get concerned about over maturing. And as this is public health care, they probably try to be as efficient as possible without requiring ultrasounds everyday to see the development.

Makes sense! We sometimes have to bring people back multiple times before they trigger so that would eliminate that!
