Light is always a part of shooting so that's always in consideration. f/16 is very popular for landscape photography and I have lenses go down to f/22. f/14 on a lense designed for studio lighting will be no problem.

F16 was popular for landscape, no photographer use that anymore because of diffraction on modern high resolution sensors.
Unless they want blurry images that cannot be enlarged of course.

Depends on the film and the format, if you're shooting copex rapid for example, you wouldn't want to shoot at f16.

Maybe you could share some of these hand-held macro photos, what with this being a site that allows image sharing. I’ve got a micro-Nikkor 200mm f/4 which is pretty much impossible to use wide open without a tripod, f/5.6 to f/8 is the most usable range for handheld and the effective aperture is f/8 to f/11. Usually macro photographers buy lighting trucks to get adequate focal depth and lighting.

Dude it was a joke. I never ever shoot macro without a tripod. It just wanted to make clear that the picture above is nonsense. Why on earth should you use this f/14 lense and shoot hand-held. Makes no sense.

This lens has an LED ring on the tip, fully water proof. I’ve seen it used more for shooting macro video on an automated rail and it’s move away or toward something through a “tunnel” or sorts
