Wobble between 60-70mph

I've read that this is a known issue, but havent seen what a fix is. Some say balance, I dont think that would be it with brand new tires and all, but doesnt anyone else get this? Doesnt always happen, but when it does its right around the 60mph mark, and if I get to 67+, it smooths out again.

Yeah sounds like tires out of balance. Would be the first thing I'd try because it's inexpensive. Tires can throw weights at any time. Might be rare but it's happened to me before. If it keeps wobbling after a rebalance, maybe a steering stabilizer.

But, might just have some loose parts in the suspension. Could try to re-torque everything to spec if tire balance doesn't help

Steering stabilizer

Re-torque your track bar bolts and see if that fixes it.

There was a recall on my 2020 potentially related to this. Mine would become uncontrollable at certain speeds if I hit a bump just right.

The dealership replaced the front steering damper with an updated part. And they tightened both lower ball joints.

If it’s death wobble, it isn’t triggered by speed. That sounds like a balance issue. Death wobble is triggered by reverberation/vibration, typically caused by something like a pothole or other force. Sounds like you should try to rebalance before chasing down DW gremlins 👍🏼

Mine got the wobble, dealer replaced most of the front end parts and it went away

Im not saying DW doesn’t exist, I’m saying that the most likely culprit for vibration between a certain speed is an imbalance. I recommended doing that before going through the entire front suspension. It’s much cheaper and easier to eliminate a tire imbalance than to start immediately with DW.

Not sure how that statement offended you or anyone else. I think people saw “wobble” in the title and decided it couldn’t be anything else.

Are you assuming your comment offended me? I was just chiming in with my actual experience

“You or anyone else”, as in the person who downvoted sound advice. I’ve driven trucks with DW and there’s a reason they say “death”. It can be terrifying. But there’s a lot of people who may have never had a truck or vehicle with a solid front axle that keep reading about “death wobble” and thing some minor shake or vibration is it.

The point of my response is to let them know that it might not be that worst case scenario. And as someone with experience, I’m sure you wish them the same. A 30 minute rebalance appointment versus weeks if not months of waiting on parts, service, and hoping it’s gone when all is said and done.
