Sensor Contact object? I don't get closer no matter how long I fly. Anyone know what this is?

some a satellites, you can take creds or surveys(ecliptic went after me when i got the creds, no bodies were found kek), not sure what else.(roids, shipping crates, other odd things) And looks like you went to the planet and not contact?(you have the planet selected not mystery object:/)
In my experience, Sensor Contacts often occur in orbit around planets.
I did travel to the contact. I made very sure. There's just nothing here around the planet.
I am definitely at the Sensor Contact because when I fly away from the planet for a while, the diamond icon for the sensor contact pops up again behind me, listing 20 km or something. Then I fly back, and there is still nothing.
This mystery object looks to be a visual bug where an asteroid follows your ship around.
oooooh, yeah that could be.
Doesn't explain the completely empty Sensor Contacts though.
Yeah empty sensor contacts are weird. All I can think is that maybe it was shipping crates that you’ve already looted? This happened to me - I basically forgot I’d already been to that sensor contact so when I pulled up there was nothing to be found.
I have, up to now, encountered two Sensor Contacts on the map that contained absolutely nothing (really, nothing but empty space) but, at both of those Sensor Contacts, I saw this little object floating around.
I can't get closer, if I fly away and turn around it seems no further away than it was, and my particle beam shots seem to be able to go in front of it AND behind it, perspective wise, meaning that it should be relatively close to me.
I can't scan it or lock on to it either.
Wonder what it is.
