How likely?

I fell victim about 2 days ago,the person who was doing it ironically stopped messaging me before I blocked them, they demanded the money ,I paid a very small fraction of the amount ,then they kept demanding more, like, spamming me.Then they just, stopped, hours went by ,and then I went too bed and blocked them the next day, they had just stopped messaging me,nothing has been leaked as of yet ,so,logically they should've moved on by now, because it is ultimately just a money scheme, they don't really care about me,what is the likelihood of them posting them now? They know they aren't gonna get any money, and if they were gonna post them ,surely they would've done it by now? What is the timeframe in which you are "clear" of them?

Please read the post: New Victims: Please read first

There is no set rule that they follow - it depends on the scammer, how much you paid, etc. In situations where the victim has paid, the scammers will usually hang around a little longer. In situations where the victim has paid a lot, the scammers will be even harder to get through as they will likely look for different ways to stay in contact with the victim.

If you've cut off communications with them and they don't have any way of getting in touch with you, the game is over for them. Leaking your photos at that point won't provide them any financial benefit (and they won't leak purely out of spite unless you piss them off along the way by making it personal). I would still lay low for a while.

Have you experienced this? If so how long has it been? And did anything get leaked? For me it's the uncertainty that is getting too me,because once it happens ,that's it,its over,no one is gonna care in a few weeks ,it's not like I'm some celebrity, but there is no way I can know for sure ,they could leak them tomorrow, next week,in a month ,in a year.i know it is astronomically unlikely, but I've always been an overthinker,I genuinely don't care a whole lot about them getting leaked ,it's a dick, all my mates have 1 ,it's not that big a deal, but it's just the absolute uncertainty.bless u for responding ♥️

Yes, I have been through this - it's been probably five or six months now for me. It's a long story with what these assholes did to me but, in short, they sent a link to my photos to a few people at the very beginning (before I cut contact with them) to try to get me to respond. I don't know where these idiots got the list of people that they thought would scare me but there was only one person that was on the list out of like 5 people that mattered - the rest of the people I didn't know and, therefore, didn't give a shit about.

It's all scare tactics. If your scammers are going to leak them, they will generally want you to know (e.g., they will send to a few people (or at least appear like they are sending to a few people) to try to scare you and get you to pay them from leaking it further). So, if you've cut off contact with them, there's really nothing that they can gain by leaking them so they usually won't.

But to your point, nobody is going to care if they do leak - people will be more concerned about your well-being than anything. It has had no negative impacts on my life whatsoever - it just initially sucked.

That's reassuring ,cos it's exactly wat I was thinking anyway, but I'm still never gonna forget the absolute panic I had when I realised what was happening,I still have the anxiety of checking my phone every few mins, being scared shirtless after every notification. But I hope the anxiety will go over time and i can become a better person from the experience.Ultimately the person has probably already moved on,they literally stopped speaking to me first ,this subreddit and ppl like I have been an absolute godsend ♥️

Yeah, the anxiety will persist for a while but it definitely gets easier with time.
