Any pattern recommendations for alternative, slightly fancier dresses?

Pattern Search

I'm visiting a friend at the end of October and was informed one of the reservations he's making will be a fancy cocktail bar. So, I'm looking for pattern recommendations for dresses that could be worn to a nice dinner at a fancy cocktail bar. I do generally prefer a shorter skirt and ideally it would look good with tights if the weather is cooler that night. I generally prefer a more grungy or minimalist style to cottagecore, etc. but am very open! I'm a US 14-16. My first thought was something like the photo shown below so if anyone has pattern recommendations for this style of dress, I'd also appreciate those! But I'm also open to other styles!

Papercut Patterns has the Maya dress, a basic bias-cut slip dress. You could also try the Saltwater slip from Friday Pattern Company for a simpler version. The fabric choice will really decide how fancy each of these dresses are, combined with your other styling. I made the Maya dress to wear to a wedding and used a nice poly satin and it looked beautiful and appropriate for a cocktail bar!

You can check out the vikisews patterns. I love their instructions, style wise not always my style but they have more special designs which you can make in a minimalistic style maybe? If I’m not mistaken, peppermint magazine has a dress like your inspiration picture, their patterns used to be free but not anymore https://peppermintmag.com/sewing-school/rozelle-slip/

Lois Dress by Tessuti Fabrics has a similar shape, but the straps/sleeves are different. I haven't made this, so I can't vouch for the quality of the pattern.
