Denon X2800H or Onkyo NR7100
I purchased the 2800 for $698 on Amazon (this is before I realized that Adorama just sold it for $499, ugh), but then also purchased the NR7100 for $649 on Adorama. So, I have them both here and unopened and am having trouble figuring out which to keep...first world problems.
Setup is a 7.1:
Klipsch RP-8000F x2
Klipsch RP-504C
Klipsch RP-160M x4
SVS PC-2000 Pro
TV: Sony 85X95K
DVD:L Panny 820
Gaming Console: XBox Series X
Im way more familiar with the Denon having had the X1100 and X1600 (both A4L refurbs). I loved the 1600! It suited me extremely well and I was very happy with its performance, though, it was a little finnicky with the XBox Series X - I had to run it the XBox to the TV and then eArc back to the Denon for some reason. The 1600 died recently after the house took a lightning strike. I like the 2800H, relative to the 1600 because of the improved GUI.
But, the NR7100 gets me two more channels (that Im unlikely to use, although I have thought about adding height speakers, but didnt because the 1600 couldnt handle it. And the 7100 gets me Dirac.
However, just a little reading on Dirac and Im worried that its more complicated to use than Audyssey and I may have to buy an additional mic to use.
So, what advice do you have relative to keeping the 2800H or the NR7100? Thanks in advance!
