Im putting together a new build tomorrow - ASUS B650E-E; 7800X3D; GSkill CL30 6000 2x32GB RAM; and a 4090. Mobo has a manufacture date of August 2023.

Is BIOS 1813 stable? If not, which BIOS should I be installing a prior BIOS?

Also, once I get into the BIOS setup, what settings are absolutely necessary to change (before tweaking RAM)? Ive been reading about problems with extended boot times, Memory Context Restore, Memory Power Down. Should I be messing with these settings to turn them off or set them at Auto?

Appreciate advice and tips, thanks!

A lightning strike damaged my current 10700K, Patriot 4400 DDR4, 3080 FTW3 build. Local shop diagnosed and determined that the mobo was fried and we replaced the mobo. However, the 3080 FTW3 then died, but EVGA honored the warranty. But, I got myself into a 4090 FE and am feeling the itch to upgrade now.

Insurance is covering the entire replacement cost of the PC and after looking at the replacement values for the above components, if I were to get a 7800X3D, ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-E GAMING WIFI mobo, and 2x32GB 6000 Mhx GSkill Trident Z5 CL30 DDR5, I'd only be paying $120 out of pocket.

My fans, drives, PSU (Seasonic Focus PX-850), and CPU Cooler (Arctic LF2 360) all came throug

Im sweating my recent 4090 FE purchase. While waiting for the card to arrive Ive began looking for something to replace the nVidia squid.

Im currently running a Seasonic Focus PX-850 PSU that doesnt have a 12-pin connector. Im also sticking this card into a Lian Li Lancool 2 case within which I temporarily used a 4080 FE and couldnt close the side door with the squid, hence, Im looking for something safe and reliable to use.

I cant seem to navigate if it is actually safe to use something other than squid. Further, while I fully intended to use the CableMod adaptor and cable off of Amazon, Im reading there's a revision 1.1 but thats also so new who knows if its actually safe.

Ive got two teenage boys, 14 and 16, that I'd like to get into wtaches. You know, so they the date and time without having to ask someone, class them up a bit, and maybe spark an interest in watches and how they work as neat mechanical pieces.

Are Vostoks a good choice in this respect? Im reading that theyre durable, reliable (somewhat it seems), easy to work on and mod. Plus they just look cool which should appeal to them.

Looking at them on Amazon, there's a dizzying array of styles to pick from. If you think this is a good place to start, send me in a direction. The 16 year old is very reserved, not splashy or looking for attention, but would appreciate something that stands out as u

Looks like things are getting even tighter and maybe Im just not going to get a 4090, let alone a 4090 FE.

But, has anyone in the last month or so successfully gone into BB and ordered the 4090 FE using the SKU?

Been reading older threads about using the app to find it listed at a store and calling that store or going in-person to order it and am wondering if this might be successful.

Thanks in advance.

Ive tried a couple of power calculators, including EVGA, Seasonic, and Newegg and came out with really different results, from 450w at EVGA to 1300 Seasonic.

Im running an OC'd 10700K on a Z490 mobo and 4x8GB Patriot 4400Mhz RAM. 11 fans and 2 1TB NVMEs + 4 2.5" 1TB SSDs.

I've got a Seasonic Focus PX-850 PSU. Will this be sufficient to my setup with a 4090?

Note: Not quite ready to go full upgrade, but do want to get into a 4090 so I can keep it for several years.

L-Connect 3 was not properly showing temps, so followed Lian-Li's "guide" to uninstall, stop processes, and reinstall as an administrator. Upon new installation, I only get the option to select "CPU" on the Fan/Pump Profile page in the app. "GPU" was an option before I uninstalled and now its not. Using v1.7.2

I thought the T1 wall wart was big but was able to make it work. The T2 wall wart is huge though and prevents me from plugging my TV and the Govee into the same single outlet behind the TV. Govee should really put a note in their marketing information about this oversized plug.

Anyone experience this and have a suggestion other than installing, for example, a double outlet wall kit?

I purchased the 2800 for $698 on Amazon (this is before I realized that Adorama just sold it for $499, ugh), but then also purchased the NR7100 for $649 on Adorama. So, I have them both here and unopened and am having trouble figuring out which to keep...first world problems.

Setup is a 7.1:
Klipsch RP-8000F x2
Klipsch RP-504C
Klipsch RP-160M x4
SVS PC-2000 Pro
TV: Sony 85X95K
DVD:L Panny 820
Gaming Console: XBox Series X

Im way more familiar with the Denon having had the X1100 and X1600 (both A4L refurbs). I loved the 1600! It suited me extremely well and I was very happy with its performance, though, it was a little finnicky with the XBox Series X - I had to run it the X

Hi, all. Im replacing a Denon X1600H that died following a lightning strike. Im familiar with Denon and they do the job.

I really like the dual HDMI outs on the 2800H and the improved Denon interfact, but, Im reading that the Onkyo Dirac room correction is a better choice compared to the Audessey that comes with the Denon.

Im running a 7.1 setup with Klipsch Ref Premiers (280Fs, 450C, 160Ms) with a SVS PC-2000 sub.

Appreciate advice.

Hey forum experts... Im recovering from a lightning strike that wrecked my Samsung 85" QN90B. I have a $2200 from home insurance and think Ive narrowed my choices to the QN90B and the X90L in the 85" range. Im looking for advice whether the X90L is a solid replacement.

Im willing to spend a little more out-of-pocket, but not more than $250-$400.

Im typically watching streaming services, e.g., Netflix, Prime; Sports on local OTA; XBox Series X; and will be using a Sony or Panasonic DV Blu-Ray UHD player.

Appreciate any advice or even an alternative to consider. Maybe theQN90C or ?

Hey forum experts... Im recovering from a lightning strike that wrecked my Denon X1600H. My insurance settlement provides up to $649 to replace the X1600H. Im waffling between the X1700H and the X1800H and am having a hard time discerning the feature differences between the two. Im leaning towards the X1700H to avoid having to pay money out-of-pocket for the X1800H. Is the price difference between the two, at Amazon that difference is $150, worth getting the X1800H?

My uses include streaming services from the TV, Panasonic UHD BR player, XBox Series X.

Im running a 7.1 system (surround side and rear) and might upgrade to a dual sub setup, but thats a low likelihood.

Thank you.
