I actually think this is really cute as is ! I think a bed skirt would do wonders for the underneath of the bed! :)

What school allows pets?!?! Beautiful space btw.

I have an emotional support animal, it was pretty easy to get the accommodation since all I needed was a letter from my psychologist and to fill out some paperwork. I tried living without my cat and it was truly the worst lol, my grades have gone up a ton since I brought her to school.

Has she acclimated well to the big change? Like does she seem happy and entertained?

Sorry cat lover here haha. I was close this year to living in a studio apartment and all I could think about was how little space my 2 cats would have.

She’s doing really well, she prefers to be the only cat in the household. It can be hard to keep her entertained but I’ve developed some strategies for playing so it’s all good

That's great!

Go vertical with your storage. Instead of 20 items on one table top, put up some shelves and style them with all your cool stuff.

I second the bed skirt.

It already looks pretty good, but maybe a more cohesive look would help. For example matching storage boxes for things that are just lying around now would help. You could either buy matching ones or use whatever fits and cover them in contact paper to make them look the same.

Contact paper is a super smart idea, I never would have thought of that.

I think if you can, switching out the rug for a bigger one can help’

I was thinking that, one that matches better with your other decor and has less contrast, because that’s where my eye automatically goes

Yeah. Like, half the room big, bright red or deep blue, or deep autumn color would vibe.

Dang. Dorms at our school looked like a trailer. Even the “nice” ones. So glad students have great housing these days.

I feel like this is in a house, since she says housemates, and not a prison looking dorm like I had 20yrs ago, lol.

You could get an enclosure like this for your litter box: option A, option B, or option C!

Those are super cute, I will definitely check them out tomorrow for cyber Monday sales.

Just an oversized rug tbh. It’s cute!

if you're wary about a bed skirt because it might be in the way when grabbing things a cute curtain could also work?

The only thing I’d change is maybe framing the artwork. Otherwise, it looks nice.

  1. I’d remove the peg board above the desk. It doesn’t really look like you use it and it adds visual clutter. I would also remove the periodic table. Rearrange the remaining wall decor so it’s more evenly spaced out, maybe moving the collage of pictures where the peg board is and arranging them more structured instead of collage like
  2. I’d rehang your fairy lights more taut and flush w where the wall meets the ceiling
  3. Definitely get a bed skirt
  4. (Add’l money) I’d get a long floating shelf and install it above your bookshelf. The top of your bookshelf looks very cluttered.
  5. (Add’l money), like others have said, get a larger rug but I’d remove the current rug altogether 6, (Add’l money) a huge hack I love is to get a comforter / duvet a size bigger than the bed. Upgrade to a more mature queen size fluffy bedding and it’ll make your bed much more cozy and inviting.

I feel like your room is lovely but I would move the artwork placement a bit! For example the hexagon shelf, lower it to about the height of the light switch and center it above the bookshelf. I would take the plant hanging down and put it on the shelf, or put it directly next to the hexagon art shelf (instead of below).

The white frame you have by your desk and the white frame by the door seem to be matching. Put them next to each other (one on top of the other), maybe in between the window and the cork board. Move the current flower poster from in between the window and cork board to the wall with the mini fridge.

Right now the art on the mini fridge wall feels very scattered and not cohesive. I think adding the flower poster there would tie it with the rest of the room well. Move the other art on that wall so it’s horizontal/straight/ in a line with each other (not at different heights). That’ll make it look like it’s meant to be there and not random. Consider moving the brown art hanging to above the hexagon above the bookshelf. Then have the rest of the art in a line at about the same height as your cork board. Put the periodic table closest to your desk because you’re gonna need it there more. Picture collage next to it, then the heart, then the flower poster.

Ooo and I just noticed that you have a bit of room next to your desk! Will your fridge fit there? Scoot the desk a bit away from the wall, and put the trash can there (it’ll be a bit more tucked away than it is now). Where the trash is now, put your mini fridge! That’ll clear up the wall in that area and I feel like it’ll make it more calming and less scattered!

eggsnguacamole•

Ooo and unless ur planning to put more art next to it I would suggest centering the flower poster on the wall above the litter box!

I love the way your shelf is organized by the way it’s sooo cute!

Honestly, adding a bed skirt to cover the clutter underneath, a bigger rug rather than the smaller ones, and fix/straighten the string lights so they look more neat.

It’s cute!

if you don't want to use a bed skirt because you'll need frequent access to stuff under your bed, you could look for half curtains and hang them using a long tension rod. If you're crafty and have access to a sewing machine you could even make your own bed curtains with whatever fabric you like (flat bedsheets are great for this if you want to use what you have)
