Not quite the same problem as they want it added to an existing album, my problem is in creating an album

the last action refers to all photos, instead of the ones above you filtered with the dates

Because that’s the way create album works: make copies of photos and put them in an album

Can you create the album and then add photos to the album vs create with?
Not quite the same problem as I’m trying to create a new album in the process which is the problem
I must have hallucinated creating an empty album.
No you are right, it has an empty space “with photos” but you can leave it blank, which is misleading as you can never normally leave anything like that blank it’ll normally fail
