Frore AirJet Steam Deck cooling mod is the LTT cooling upgrade that I want to see.

Discussion

Unfortunately the AirJet Mini dimensions are too wide to be able to fit two side by side into the Steam Deck fan cutout which would have meant they could stick 2 sets of 2 in the fan spot and a heatpipe/heatsink system in between each set.

Instead they could try a few different scenarios and report thermals, dB and performance for each scenario (maybe do it on a more power hungry handheld like the Asus Rog Ally too).

  1. Mount 3 AirJets (4 if the fit) into the fan bay and test performance when just pushing the air through the existing heatpipe fins.
  2. Run scenario 1 again but with a new heatpipe fin stack with much more tightly packed fins.
  3. Use another heatpipe to sit between two AirJets in the fan bay (again with the more tightly packed fins.
  4. Mount a 2nd pair of AirJets onto heatpipe right above the CPU and combine with the setup in scenario 3.

Frore themselves have a video with some details about doing just scenario 4 but it is just a marketing video targeting manufacturers.

This could be a multi-part video, maybe 2 videos on the Steam Deck and if 3 or 4 AirJets on the Steam Deck offered no performance boost over 2, then do another video with 4 AirJets on the Asus Rog Ally.

Need to do something with all their cool machining and lab equipment and who knows if it works out they might even have an impact on future PC handheld gaming.
