Are there fun Easter eggs to find in talos 2?

In the first game there was quite a lot of fun stuff to be found. I'm not searching hard but after 30 hours in, I haven't found anything that hints at it.

I'm not looking for spoilers, just wanna know if I should commit to the every corner strategy.

I’ve explored quite a bit off the beaten path and there are some stuff hidden away mostly ancient human artifacts and Prometheus sparks. But largely it’s empty, without the fun easter eggs tp1 had. I’d say it was not worth it.

The artifacts are so rare and hard to find it doesn't seem worth a trophy if there even is one for it.

I’ve found 10 but I scoured the maps for them. Also ended up with 12 sparks. It was not worth it or satisfying. It’s a shame there’s not more and more interesting stuff to find.

The sparks are worth it if you get 24. I made sure I got both in each level.

what do you get for all sparks?

Not much really, ancient human artifacts which are just... There. And Prometheus sparks that let you skip puzzles but like, the point of the game is solving puzzles why the hell would I want to skip them?

It's a really strange decision to make such large open maps only to put next to nothing in them. There was the potential to make some really creative secrets in there, but oh well, the game is still 10/10.

I remember before release they discussed the philosophy as "it doesn't make sense in context of real world" (or words to that effect). Which, to be fair, I can see that, but at the same time [ending spoilers] >!it turns out this was all basically a construct of Athena's dreaming, so I could totally see it being narratively permissible to still have easter eggs.!<

Yeah, but consider that we don't know that fact from that beginning. And if you were to find a bunch of easter eggs as a new player who knows TTP1, you would be like "huh, maybe it IS a simulation again", but at the very least you would know something is up and it would break the mystery a bit faster.

There's a reference to an easter egg in >!the museum section, apecifically the !<>!puzzles!<, but otherwise there aren't too many things off the visible paths

Those puzzles are hilarious. An actual example of what the Founder had to struggle through.

Whaddya bet the DLC will just be a total-conversion of TTP1 to TTP2 but it's in cardboard-cutout form

And you can pick up the boards and solve it without tools.

In https://talosprinciple.wiki we’re documenting the multiple spawn locations of artifacts. You can check there if you’re missing something.

Not in my experience, which is really shit honestly and such a downside to the game. Talos 1 was riddled with really great easter eggs, then they create these new vast areas with absolutely nothing worth seeing in them, it’s really bizarre.

yeah, huge empty maps. I regret spending so much time on learning and exploring them

No there's nothing

I think the dude playing guitar on the stairs in New Jerusalem is an easter egg/cameo of the game's composer especially because they share the same name

There’s also Straton remnants/holograms, one in each of the areas. Those are not tied to any achievement and could be missed.

There's some things in the bootup area.

With cheats mode I've just found this guy. Not sure what that's about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppa2AKdFfQo

There's also a terminal underneath the spawn of that start up that someone else found (again cheats mode) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1146385479781073010/1179498272478470225/20231129200121_1.png Doesn't do anything though - It's either just discarded under there by map maker, or it serve some purpose for ..later on.

That first one is an asset from Serious Sam games, if I can recall correctly!

Yeah someone said that on discord. I don't think it is an easter egg, since this morning I've seen it elsewhere OOB on the bootup sequence, on top of a similar looking tomb-thing. So I think it might've been on top and they just hid it away.

I've found a Volv-e robot in a level, which is a fitctional mascot from the past Devolver Direct. If I were to find a Non Fuckwith-able Tape, though, I'd have laughed my ass off
