Recommendation for ‘realistic’ harem?

HaremLit Recommendations?

Anyone have a recommendation for a more realistic creation of a harem with some believable romance? There are a lot of books where: -The MC finds out that harems are normal in the world and he just seems to accept that and just starts collecting women without building much of a connection with each. -The MC’s love interest see him admiring another woman out of nowhere just says something like ‘I don’t mind sharing, etc, etc.

I love this genre as every book is just a really fun read but would like some recommendations on ones where it takes a bit to develop the harem. Not just time wise but also from an emotional standpoint. With the women also falling in love with each other. ‘Our Own Way’ and ‘Binding Words’ being a good example of that.

On a side note. I don’t know if it falls within this subreddit but any throuple book recommendations?

What youre asking for is generally referred to as "slow burn" romance in this genre. And there are plenty! Some series feature a mixture of slow burn relationships and faster paced ones seeing as different people develop relations at different speeds.

Master Class by Virgil Knightley and Annabelle Hawthorne - Slice of life and a slow burn. Master mage comes home from war to help out an orphanage. Its an insanely wholesome and romantic story. Probably the best slow burn out there.

Mob Sorcery by KD Robertson - Urban Fantasy. Book 1 is out with book 2 probably coming this month or early next month. VERY good series and the Romance is pretty slow burn.

Demons Throne by KD Robertson - The first relationship with Fia is slow burn and nothing physical happens with her until book 2. There is, however, one fast paced relationship (due to politics) but every other one is fairly slow and is given time to develop.

Monster Masseur by Virgil Knightley - this is VERY slow burn. Its a slice of life so both the pace of the plot and the pace of the romance are slow.

Demon Hunter by Michael Dalton. The first girl comes fast (heh) but her romantic development towards true "love" takes nearly the entire 6 book series for reasons youll see in the first book. Every other relationship is given time to develop before anything physical is considered. Literal months in most cases.

Skullduggery / Soul Gem Collector by Logan Jacobs - both of these titles can be considered slow burn and theyre both actually pretty good. I dont often recommend farm written series unless they are actually pretty decent.

I sumed everything you said up to Relationship building and the gotta catch em all type so my recommendations are

Master Class by Annabelle and Virgil (Actually really good surprised me. Plus a book that actually writes kids as actual kids that's not just whiny or entitled brats.)

TTTT by Mike Truk(My favorite book in the genre, really dark MC starts at a low bar but the adventure is about the journey)

Neural wraith - KD rob (the banter in this series is great)

Rise of the weakest summoner - j. R. Saileri (I only got to book 2 but the Characters were cute 🤷)

Literally can't stand TTTT, MC is borderline Mentally challanged in Book One seems to be getting the hang of things by the end of the first book. Then in Book Two he regresses and seemes to lose another 20IQ... The MC is left in the dust by your average 6 year old. Even the 6 year old can learn you don't touch a hot stove and MC keeps slamming his hand on the burner over and over again.

Being manipulated and pressured into doing shit was the point. The guy tells him that his plan was to put him in front of terrible situation after terrible situation knowing well that he wasn't ready or had the power to make such decisions.. Plus that's the main villains MO not to kill but to corrupt. I dropped book 2 for the same reason but decided to stick it out and after reading book 3 it became my favorite series

It's fine to manipulate and pressure an MC into bad decisions.

What I take issue with is how brain-dead it is, "Friendly" army creating a scene that gruesome in an exorcist movie and the MC thinks they must still be good people.

The book does a lot well... but it's manipulation, the strength of the BBEG isn't and you'd have to be an idiot to fall for it. Which the MC does over and over in the same ways.

Because that's the guys power get talks about in the last fight and later on. It doesn't just makes you do things it works with what is there and makes it more appealing. Like you wouldn't normally kill hurt your best friend but if he told you he slept you probably would. His power makes those feelings and actions more appealing to choose. That and he keeps telling him that "You're the Savior isn't it your right to do this and that" or "Aren't you a leader, lead.". I some situations some people will follow the person with the biggest "gun" so as Savior MC is supposedly that and the bad guy plays on that knowing damn well he's not qualified and giving him a army he's not qualified to lead

Really anything by Mike Truk is awesome. Both the Shadow Rogue series and The Lost Reavers are slow burn. The Lost Reavers is much more so since the MC is dealing with a lot of trauma.

I'd like to add Apocalypse Cultivator by Jack Bryce. I have enjoyed it so far.
