When to get help at the ER?

So my doctor thinks I have Chron’s but it isn’t confirmed yet. My belly has felt sore and squeezing pain on the lower right, middle, and left side of my belly. I took Tylenol and anti-nausea meds per my doctor’s request, but my pain isn’t getting any better. This squeezing pain is something I’ve never felt before and started about 11 hours ago. Google tells me appendicitis has a lot of my symptoms

I don’t want to under react if it’s an emergency but I can’t afford and ER visit unless I’m at risk of dying and I don’t want to get worked up over nothing.

Would you go to the ER?

You could call your doctors office and speak to their after hours/on call doctor to see what they recommend. Meanwhile I’d watch for fever, increasing/unmanageable pain and the area being extremely tender to touch

This. There's also urgent care facilities where you can walk in without an appointment and be examined by doctors or nurses. Generally just costs the same as seeing a regular doctor.

If your Dr thinks you have it he needs to book you for a colonoscopy and mri

I came here to say this. I'm not sure why the doctor didn't do this right away if s/he suspected CD. I know things are crazy trying to schedule anything medical related lately - but the sooner it gets scheduled the sooner you get confirmation on CD or something else.

If the pain won’t go away, gets worse, you start vomiting, or you get a fever, then you should go to the ER. The only thing you really need to worry about is a blockage meaning you can’t pass stool, or a perforation. In the case of a perforation you should feel a lot of pain and have cramping that won’t stop and then develop a fever. Sadly pain is pretty normal with Crohn’s. It can feel scary like you’re breaking inside. I just document everything and monitor myself for fever.

Sounds like it could be a partial obstruction. If you start vomiting, go to the ER for sure.
