Can manipulative tendencies be a response to abuse?
Sometimes, do we tend to gaslight or engage in other manipulative behaviors in response to the abuse we receive from another?
Is this a part of “reactive abuse?”

“reactive abuse” is only when someone who is being abused lashes out at the perpetrator, so no it isn’t that
but yes, the cycle of abuse is a well documented phenomenon where previous victims may go on to display manipulative and abusive behaviour. sometimes we don’t mean to do it and it is a means to avoid more pain but that doesn’t excuse it and it needs to be addressed. sometimes we do mean to do it and that’s when you really need to sit down and evaluate if you’re fit to be in relationships with people
I think I meant if we want to do manipulative things in revenge towards our abuser. Or even say gaslighting things to them
