Sony S-Center Input: UNLOCKED FINALLY?! (Enables A80J as Center Speaker)

Discussion

Ok so I think I cracked the mysterious Sony S-center input that has been sought after since it was introduced in the Sony TV's a few years ago, e.g.

I have to confirm 100% by building the actual cable that will allow me to hook it up to my AVR's center pre-out, but using alligator clips and my laptop as an audio source, I seem to have unlocked the S-Center.

Short clip of it working when i switch the 'TV as a center' option on and off, and then pausing/playing the source on my laptop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr2OBeLlBcI

Short story of how I solved it, was pretty much I was walking my dogs and the idea came to mind that there's gotta be some 'handshake' or 'trigger' for the TV to know when an S-center-compatible device was plugged into the input.

I then considered the engineering side of how Sony would have done this as easily as possible. And the idea of basically remapping the TRS plug came to mind.

A bit of research found this recent video, which shows a Chinese youtuber with the new Sony HT-A9 where he added an aftermarket Center speaker onto the S-Center output of that system. It had a helpful pinout of the jack, at the 6:18 mark of the video, which shows the tip of the TRS as the Center channel audio, the middle ring being the 'identification signal', and the bottom one as ground:

This confirmed my idea, and got my brain juices going about what could be the trigger/handshake for it. Then again, thinking about the engineering side of it and what would be the easiest thing to repurpose... The standard AV 12v remote trigger!

So all-in-all, the S-channel input is basically a standard analog TRS jack. The sleeve/bottom is the negative/ground, middle ring is the 12v positive, and the tip is the signal, that's it.

Now off to get out my soldering iron and try my hand at making this cable...
