YouTubers and their shorts

Old guy here. Big fan of YouTube, but I'm increasingly frustrated that my subscriptions all seem to be opting for shorts. They take their normal videos and clip them into shorts, but here's my big gripe: these are then published as notifications, and I have to go through them in order to clear the notifications on that subscription. We need another form of notification for these shorts. Oh, they can be fun from time-to-time, but they produce a "false" notification that forces my hand. I don't like it.
