[TOMT][SONG][2000s] Older, soft song with lyrics like "Can't keep you out of my mind"

I'm trying to remember a song I heard in the mid-2000s that was sung by a soft voice, and while I can't remember if it was male or female I'm leaning toward male. I distinctly remember the chorus/repeated lyrics of "I can't get you out of my head, can't keep you off of my mind... my mind, my mind" repeated at the end like that. I might be mixing up the "get you out of" and "keep you off of". It was a type of singing where the music continued playing and the singer just spoke up sporadically with lines like that.

I thought it might've been Ben Folds or Sufjan Stevens as I know I discovered those singers at around the same time, but I can't find the song by them. Definitely not saying it's not one of theirs, though. I'll update if I can remember anything else as I'm actively looking for it.
