How to horizontal zoom in Melodyne on a Mac trackpad

Hold down CMD+Option, and then press down with two fingers UNTIL THE TRACKPAD CLICKS, and zoom will do a great job of zooming the way you move your fingers: if you pinch up and down, it will zoom vertically. If you pinch side-to-side, it will zoom horizontally. It becomes super-intuitive, and I don't know why it's not the default.

Posting this because every time I have to intensive work in melodyne, I go through hell trying to remember/google how to get zoom to work on just one axis. Maybe I am the only one with this problem, but I swear the first 30 pages of Google results are "how to zoom both horizontally and vertically at the same time", when what I want is how to do one or the other, and not both.

The zooming and trackpad actually works great if you know the right key command, but for some reason I can never find it. Hopefully it's helpful to someone, and will at least help me to remember: hold CMD+OPT and the trackpad zooms exactly how you'd want it to. The weird part is that you have to remember not just the key-bindings, but also to PUSH DOWN UNTIL THE TRACKPAD CLICKS.

It's a really weird and idiosyncratic combination, to get intuitive behavior, but zoom in Melodyne works great, once you know it.

Maybe I am the dumbest person for thinking this is a good tip, but I am literally only posting this because I can't tell you how many times I have googled "Melodyne horizontal zoom" and the results are only about how to pinch-zoom the whole screen. So hopefully, next time I need to remember, this will pop up in my Google results.

Cheers.
