But for the Grace of God, there go I...
My Aunt passed away at 47 y/o today due to complications from Alcoholism. She walked a path to the end that I was on up until June 2015. She suffered her first major health issues in the summer of last year, and we started down the path to recovery. After two months she was certain she could drink a glass of wine/day. I told her moderation wasn't something I had any success with, and if she wanted to stop completely I would help however I could. That was the last time I spoke to her. 5 months later she passed away in a hospital bed leaving behind two kids and her Mother. I can't help but look at the situation and think what a shame, and also gratitude that for some reason I've been spared that same fate at least for today. Wrestling with the feeling of gratitude given the situation is strange to say the least. What I know for certain is IWNDWYT
