What is the bad taxes you guys are paying?

I lived in Manhattan KS for a couple years back in the 2010s when they increased city tax rate to something above 7 percent. I paid state income taxes then, but rented. Worked with a lot of people who are from Wichita. So now residing in Omaha NE I thought what the hell would visit for spring break. Noticed the following:
-No Restaurant tax - paying an avg of 6ish percent vs 10-11 percent in Omaha
-No Parking fees really anywhere - Omaha is 1.50 per hour at least depending on day
-Same or similar tourism tax on Hotels to Nebraska/Omaha

So question is where are you guys "taxed"? I know it seems like a dumb question but figured someone would give me more an example than "everywhere". Honestly I don't Wichita is all that much smaller than Omaha either.
