Announcing torrent release of humongous Halo Custom Edition Map Collection - 96.9 GB in 4,268 maps! Please download and seed if interested.
Two weeks ago, I made this post about my nearly 100 GB Halo Custom Edition map collection to moderate popular acclaim.
This collection contains every single map up to now released on halomaps.org for Halo Custom Edition. As of now, the site was last updated in February, so the collection contains maps released from June 9, 2004 to February 23, 2013. More than eight years of custom map making history are preserved here!
The collection is for fans of the original Halo who, like me, always loved those charming homebrewed maps which were available for Halo Custom Edition on the PC. With it, you will have a massive number of old, obscure maps to explore and play in. As a bonus, as long as you keep the collection up to date, you will never have to worry about a server switching to a map you never downloaded.
After trying and failing with various free hosting sites, I decided to bite the bullet and create a torrent. So here's the torrent link you've all been waiting for: halomaps.org Halo Custom Edition Map Collection (23 Feb 2010)
If you're interested in helping me share this important piece of PC gaming history, please download the entire collection and seed it. I want this torrent to stay alive for a long time.
Also, feel free to share the news of this release on your favorite Halo forum; I don't frequent any of them nowadays, so please spare me the effort. You can also feel free to post the torrent on any of the other torrent sites out there.
What you will see in Windows Explorer:

NOTE: I am considering starting a Map Collectors' Clan because imagine how great it would be to go to a forum, post your server hosting schedule, and play on any old map you want knowing your clanmates will also be able to play the map.
Please leave a comment if you'd be interested. If I see at least a few such comments, I'll create a forum using a free forum host, make an announcement in r/halo and in an edit to this post, and send those commenters a PM about it.
That's the info and the plan. I hope a few of you are interested enough to download it, and I really hope to make the Map Collectors' Clan a reality.
