Hairspray

This is posted as a follow up to my other post, which I got good advice in, but got me curious about hairspray. From what I've read it seals your hairstyle in place after already styling it, which seems like exactly what I'm looking for. However hairspray can also give your hair a crunchy texture or an unwanted shine, even an undesirable smell. So I'm looking for the definitive men's hairspray product. One that doesn't shine much at all, one with very little or no smell, and one that doesn't make my hair smell like perfume or a middle school locker room. Whatever the hell the One Direction boys use to keep that huge mass of not-shiny hair from moving in intense winds. Does anybody have recommendations?
