Action/adventure/RPG games that replicate the "collect things and the numbers go up / dopamine drip" mechanic that F2P mobile games use

I really enjoy the collecting and power increasing mechanics that a lot of mobile F2P games use, and I'm looking for something like that that's an actual game and not a psychological hook to get you to open your wallet and buy a hundred different $0.99 - $29.99 gem bundles.

Lately I've been playing Isekai: Slow Life on mobile, and there's a lot to complain about (gratuitous anime waifus, time gated mechanics, hard to compete without whale spending), but I really like the collecting characters to make a more powerful team, and all the different mechanics (fishing, farming, adventuring, etc.) that can make your village income "go up".

I never played much Fantasy Life on the Nintendo DS, but I think that's the perfect example. You could switch between different jobs and improve at them and didn't need to be locked into one class.

Final Fantasy 14 is also kind of the same vibe with it's jobs (with an unfortunate MMO grind), where you can switch to any combat job or crafting job at will and improve them all.

Another example I liked was Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. You're stranded on an island and find different members to come join your camp and it meaningfully changes and improves over time as it grows, and you unlock new areas as you gain more party members to do bigger and bigger tasks.

An entire genre that also kind of fits what I'm looking for is aRPG Diablo likes, but I've kind of hit the bottom of the barrel in that one.

Basically I'm looking for a game to just chill in and improve at my own pace, get stronger/better as I collect "things" (items, characters, gear) without P2W or lots of grinding to get there.
