Holy hell, Bad Rats (75% off) is a steal at that price.
A steal is paying you to take it.
I somehow got it with a bundle or pack. I remember seeing an article about 'The Worst Game on Steam'. Went back and checked and somehow I owned it.
Yes it is that bad.
it was cheaper during xmas sales, 90% off. :P
I should've get paid for playing this game.
Bad Rats: the Rats Revenge is 87p.
It HAS to be worth that, yes?
Barely. I played it for a solid 10 minutes and decided that was enough.
Psst. That's the joke.
Anything here worth picking up? Don't worry, already have Bad Rats
If you like strategy, get The Stronghold Collection for $4.99 (you get four games.)
This set of weeklong deals is much better than last week's offerings from Steam.
What about getting the Stronghold complete pack?
I haven't played it myself, but Stronghold 3 is generally considered to be the worst of the series. Its Amazon page is filled with 1-star reviews and it has bad reviews on Metacritic as well. I'd stick to the Stronghold Collection if I were you.
[deleted]
If you purchase the collection and Stronghold 3 piece wise, you'll pay 12.48. If you purchase the complete pack, you'll pay 12.49.
Stronghold 3 currently sells for 7.49. Honestly I'd wait for this to drop to 4.99 or 3.74 before purchasing (it might do so around the time of the Summer sale.) The 4.99 aforementioned collection should give you plenty to chew on until that time comes.
Ok, thanks.
Stronghold has just not adjusted well to 3D at all.
I really enjoy Stronghold Crusaders.
Razor2 and Demolition Inc. aren't bad.
Tidalis is a fun puzzle game and easily worth $1.24.
Hey, bot, you missed Cthulhu Saves the World + Breath of Death VII for less than a dollar.

I like being helpful, just not too helpful...
;-)
There's no buy button on AI War: Fleet Command for me lol. Can only buy the DLC
None of the games have a buy button for me, except for DLC.
WTF is going on here?
I will purchase the Stronghold Collection as soon as that mysterious "Add to Cart" button appears.
I envy you. I'll purchase Stronghold 3 (Collection not available in Australia) when that button appears :(
IMO, them not having the game available in your country justifies piracy.
I have the same thing for a handfl of those games - probably just a glitch that will be fixed soon.
Yeah, there's no buy button for me for Shattered Haven, either. Probably just a glitch.
Indie Fort has it in bundle for 7.5€ but it will be probably only base game since the bundles sold are progressing slowly - no unlocks. EDIT: The weeklong sale isn't even up for me so we just have to wait patiently. :) It is WEEK-LONG anyway. :P
there wasnt a buy button for me either for stronghold.. what i had to do was go to the storepage on chrome and then i could ass it to my cart that way.
How are the Chrome games?
Chrome builds on original Chrome engine. It looks absolutely awful by today standards (DX 8). I remember gameplay was very clunky and just felt bad. It's so cheap that it won't hurt trying, but IMHO it's not worth money.
It was in bundle stars for 4pounds + 9 other games. So idk, if its worth it.
Shattered Haven has been out a month and is already 75% off. Something doesn't seem right.
Shattered Haven didn't particularly do it for me. The art style felt very "bleh" and the puzzles started to bore me after a while.
However, I will throw my hat behind the "A Valley Without Wind" series, which I had a lot of fun with! Both games for $3.75 is a fantastic deal!
As far as I can tell Arcen just did a blanket 75% on all their games, but with this being a new release possibly it's a price mistake? Not sure.
Or maybe an Indie Bundle with Arcen games coming?
That's what I was thinking too, it might be in one of the upcoming Indie Royale bundles. Had this in my cart, but am holding off on purchasing now.
A lot of the Steam deals of late were essentially ways to deflect attention from other deals, like Amazon's scribblenauts deal last week (Midweek Madness), or Gamefly's Ravaged deal (Friday Daily Deal.)
They aren't "ways to deflect attention", usually these deals are coordinated by publishers to be for multiple outlets at similar times.
Is spellforce any good?
It's a nice little RTS/RPG game. The combination of RTS and RPG elements is quite good, but many argue that the RTS and RPG mechanics themselves are pretty shallow.
Well, I can't handle RTS games, so that was no concern for me.
I personally liked the (fully orchestral) soundtrack of the game.
I've been playing Spellforce 2 and I was going to ask this question somewhere on Reddit. I was under the impression that it was a Heroes of Might and Magic type game until I started playing it. Now, I'm just sort of confused.
Is there anything particularly great about Faith in Destiny? I have Spellforce and Spellforce 2 Gold, both on Steam and yet unplayed, but I don't know if Faith is Destiny is worth completing the set.
Can anyone comment on Airline Tycoon 2? I like airline and airport simulation games but this one's trailer looks cheesy as fuck.
I bought it because it looked fun. It wasn't. All the interfaces were horrible, nothing was intuitive. I played it for maybe 2 hours and gave up.
Airport Tycoon 1 (Deluxe/Evolution) was better IMHO. If you like airport/airline sim games you'd like it. (The first, that is) I remember waiting for AT2 to come out, and I can't say I wasn't disappointed.
Airline Tycoon 1 was great but the second one was just.... Weird for lack of a better word

I'm going to quote my previous comment on CameraBag 2:
Semi-professional photographer here. Camerabag (2) is really no big deal. It's a series of presets that do wacky things with vignetting, gamma curves and "lo-fi" effects. Basically it's a standalone Hipstamatic or Instagram that's more expensive. It will make otherwise uninteresting photos appear more impressive upon first glance, but usually at the cost of detail, tone curve, etc. Most of its black & white conversion presets are bloody awful. All low-level detail gets obliterated. It's an amusing toy, but an editing tool it is not. Buy it only if you have taken a lot of photos in broad daylight and want to spend the afternoon mangling them. Also as t_o_v said, you can't run the Steam version the same time as anyone plays a game on your account, which is asinine. Even the Mac App Store allows five(!) instances to run at once.
Wow, okay, I was kind of looking to get it to play around with (shove all my personal photos through it - I usually have fun creating fake-Instagram shots on Lightroom) but... really?
Oh well. Thanks for the mini-review!
I am from Romania (Steam Tier 2) and Stronghold Collection isn't available here.
Same for Australia.
It's rather annoying as it was the only one I really wanted to try.
canada and it's not showing up.
New Zealand, also unavailable. It was the only game I wanted to buy.
Test Drive: Ferrari Legends is also not available. This is also the first time I discover that the game is actually on Steam...
I'd like to hear some opinions on AI War, particularly how much the dlc add.
Rather than fighting against AIs pretending to be other players, AI war focuses on all human players working together against two vast AIs which are blatantly AI, but extremely intelligent ones who use the resources they're given at any one time amazingly well. They won't throw wave after wave at single point, they'll hit you where you're weak, and run if you overpower them too much. Take too large an army into an enemy system, and every AI ship there will go on alert and leave their post to try and drive you off.
Unlike other 4xs or RTSs, there's dozens of different opponent AI available which explain on the tin how their behavior is unique, you can select which two to play against, or have it randomly select from a difficulty level pool, or randomly select from all.
As for the actual ships which make up the armies, there are more than a hundred different ships, but in any one game, you'll only control about a dozen types, 3 all players get, plus one selected at the startup, plus another each time you capture an advanced research station. There's also starships and guardians, which act as the big tanks for your side and the AI respectively.
Personally, the biggest selling point for the DLC is the new Map types, which really add more attachment to each random 'universe' you play. Some of the new player ships are tricky to manage, and a few of the things it gives to the AIs are downright scary. My suggestion would be to get the main game, actually play it asap, and if you're hooked, get the DLC while it's cheap.
Thanks for this! Luckily its a weeklong deal so I have plenty of time to make a decision on the DLC.
When you say "all human players" vs "two vast AIs", are you saying it's multiplayer only or is it supposed to be some sort of stylistic thing with the game?
I heard the game was good and I like Arcen's other games, but if I can't play singleplayer, then I'll have to pass.
You can play single player fine. What Prezombie is saying is that there is no PvP, just human(s) vs. 2 AI. The AI's smart enough to make the game great despite not having PvP, though.
Awesome, thanks for the clarification. I'll probably end up picking it up after all then.

Lol, same here
I can't see the price of Test Drive: Ferrari, because of region lock :/ Could someone put the price here, please?
33% off, which is $20.09 in the US. I don't know how to check prices for other regions but the discount should be the same percentage.
33%/$20.09 here in NZ too.
To check prices in other regions, go to the store page and add ?cc=XX to the end of the URL, where XX is the code for the region. Just like this: http://store.steampowered.com/app/211970/?cc=nz
You can use them to check prices, availability, and whether or not something is region-locked. To see if something's region-locked, look in the store for one country at the "Add to Cart" button. When hovering over it, depending on your browser/settings, something like "javascript:addToCart(18533);" should show as the URL it leads to. That number is the game's code. If it is the same in your/other store, then copies from the first region can be activated in the second. If it's different, that means it's region-locked and copies cannot be activated when bought and passed from one region to the other.
Some common region codes you might use: us, ca (Canada), ru (Russia), br (Brazil), uk. I'm sure there's a complete list out there somewhere, but you generally only need your country, common countries (when posting somewhere like reddit, it helps to have different prices shown), and the countries where games are generally cheapest but may be region-locked (Russia and Brazil).
Just remember to reset the store back to your country after you do this.
I didn't now that, it's great! Thank you for the information <3
What if I buy with that link? I tried to add my basket, it worked but I didn't continue to process.
Can't we buy the game in last step or we can buy but also may be banned?
Haven't tried it, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work. If it did, people would be all over exploiting it.

Have Stronghold 1 and Crusader been patched to the HD version yet? Firefly said they submitted it to Steam months ago but I don't see anything about it on the store page.
Nope.
[deleted]
I have the box copy of Crusader, so I can play the HD version without having to pirate it. And I'd rather not pirate a Stronghold game since Firefly seems like a decent company.
Personally, would not have found out there's classic one with new resolution if not for the torrents. Also, not everyone lives in The Great Amurica to afford to buy everything they want :(
Please don't advertise piracy here. If you want to pirate, that is your choice. I'm pretty sure everyone knows where and how to pirate if they choose.
Demolition Inc 25% off? Horrible
You're looking for the comment above this.
I'm mad I purchased The Stronghold Collection at full price. Oh well, good price on Stronghold 3 however.
Since you own these, what do you think of them?
Stronghold Crusader was my first RTS, so I'm very bias towards it but it still holds up today. I love the game and I play it often still to this day. Stronghold 1 is excellent but it's a bit easier in my opinion, I like the added factions in Crusader. And here's where it dips in quality.
Stronghold 2 was complete shit when it first released, it was riddled with bugs and glitches. I bought the game shortly after release at Walmart for $20. Post-launch however, it's been pretty good actually. As a castle-building sim, it's a lot of fun. They've generally fixed most of the issues with the game.
Stronghold Legends was another dip in quality for me, they added a fantasy element to the game like dragons and magic and such. To me, it's too much of a departure from the original Stronghold and I'm not a fan of it.
Stronghold 3 was essentially their attempt to get back on the right path, but to me it just feels like a graphically updated Stronghold 2. Again, fun castle-builder but militarily it's really clunky.
For the $5 price tag, the collection is great. #3 at $7.49, I think that's a good deal as well. Here's how I rank the games.
Crusader > Stronghold > 2 >>> 3 >>>>>>>>> Legends
Hey thanks for the detailed review! That made things easier on me.
Games worth it?
It's a fun castle building sim, I believe it is.
FUCKING BAD RATS!
Is it good or bad? Or, should I say worth the buck or so it costs?
Damnit, I wish I would have watched that before I impulse purchased it. I figured, it's a buck, how bad off could I be?
How are the Chrome games? I actually played all the way through Manhunter and Darkest of Days, so I have a pretty high tolerance for mediocre FPS's.
Jurassic Park is also on sale for 75% off. I loved Walking Dead, is this worth it?
NO DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT. See the horror for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKLCrtBqRdM
Yeah TWD was their big hit, Jurassic Park, not so much.
We'd appreciate if you could upvote this submission. It is an official r/GameDeals bot and it needs some link karma to stop getting captchas. Don't worry, it isn't going to start posting deals.
What's the bot for?
It is moderation related. I'd think of him as a supplement to Automoderator. Deimorz is an admin now and we don't want to burden him with small, frequent changes to the rule set. To his credit, Deimorz has always quickly updated Automoderator when we ask. With this new bot, hopefully we can make Autmoderator updates more infrequent and comprehensive.
The specific reason he needed to get past captchas is because we will have him PMing us or posting to another subreddit when a specific action is taken.
That said, I think his scope could certainly be expanded past moderation duties if needed.
Aww he's adorable.
They always are until they go sentient.
baby steps
Maybe the answer to this question is obvious to anyone who's dabbled in bots – I haven't – but wouldn't it be easier to just associate the bot account with an e-mail address and verify it?
Unfortunately, I don't believe associating an email address disables the captcha.
As an example, I have added an email to my account and I have a substantial amount of comment karma, but I still have to go through the captcha to post a submission or PM someone.
I'm going to take a wild guess and suggest it's for posting links to deals on games.I'm an idiot who cannot read.
Haha ahh that'll teach me.
