Can you rent in England using SWV vignette on passport before arriving in UK?

Just one question to you all.

Is it possible to rent property in England using the SWV vignette on your passport before arriving in the UK?

I was thinking if this is possible then I could do an online viewing with a lettings agency and see where it takes me.
