Building my first gaming PC in a couple of decades - any suggestions?
Hi all,
I'm specing up a gaming PC, but I'm pretty out of touch. I've done a fair bit of Googling, and found a lot of posts from this sub that've helped, but was hoping for some feedback on how well/poorly I've done:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
- Cooler: Thermalright Phantom Spirit EVO 69 CFM CPU Cooler
- MB: NZXT N7 B650E ATX AM5 Motherboard
- RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive
- GPU: Asus ProArt OC GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB Video Card
- Case: Montech AIR 903 BASE ATX Mid Tower Case
- PSU: Super Flower Leadex Titanium 850 W 80+ Titanium Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
This will mostly be for gaming, I expect. Maybe for running some VMs/containers when I'm tinkering with new tools, but I expect gaming to be considerable more taxing than that. My goal was for something mid-high end (not a 4090) that will probably last a few years before I really want to upgrade anything.
I'm tech savvy, but haven't worked with hardware in a long long time. I think my last GPU was 256MB, so I'm well out of the loop. Happy to hear any thoughts or suggestions to help steer me. Is anything a waste of money? Anything too low/high end compared to the rest?
