My parents suck when it comes to my style

im 15m and i do understand why they dont like my style. all i do is wear oversized pants (not too big) and wear a metal band shirt (no gore). no piercings accessories tattoos or makeup or anything, just baggy pants and true to sized metal band tees. they absolutely hate it and constantly tells me why dont i dress like other teenagers.

this is one of the worst arguments ive ever heard because everyone is different. theres teenagers that dress way different than others. they compare me with other people that dress “normal” like my cousins or something. what they look for is skinny jeans and a shirt with a corny design on it.

i understand how much my parents love me and want the best for me, but they need to understand that im not a little kid anymore and that i feel like i should dress how i feel comfortable with. in different occasions of course ill put on whats fitting like a wedding or party or the gym, but when i go to school or go out with my friends, i want to put on whatever i like. they just wanna change my style completely.

the idea that i have to “dress like other teenagers” doesnt work at all and they need to understand that. i love my parents but im old enough to make these decisions. plus my clothes arent even that bad its not that im wearing ridiculously oversized jeans
