Is it just "me" problem or is matchmaking getting worse?

Discussion

I'm a very casual player and I've been playing for about a year on and off. I've tried my best to learn from youtube and streamers about combos, movement, mindgames and all the other things. Of course I know I cannot execute everything perfectly, but I know when I play (as per my skill level) well and when I don't.

So starting around season 10, I've been playing Quick Match Trios almost exclusively and I had a lot of fun. Matches were fair, my damage numbers were okish for a casual like me and I was happy with how I was doing, winning once in a while. Around season 11 and 12, I started noticing my Trios matches were getting more and more difficult and my stats were getting worse.

This current season has been so frustrating, I'm thinking its a waste of time to carry on with this game. Constantly getting new players in the team who run in different directions, and collectively getting destroyed by server's top players. 50% matches I get 0 kills or less than 5000 damage. Every other match, I get deleted by a group of players with 0-50 points or 4000+ points. Yes, points don't mean anything, but its a trend. Good chance they are smurfs and server top players.

So to test my theory, I logged into my other account which I had never played a match on. First game - as expected, all bots except the ones on my team. The second game - again, server top 100s, run into the first team and get destroyed. So maybe, what I had experienced is not an exception.

Why have Trios games changed so much over a few months? I remember reddit posts always recommended trios is a good place to start if you are new, but like this? Is there anything I can do other than 'git gud'? How can I learn if I don't even get a chance to fight back? Yes, 0ban and 3ban are options, but they are not real games.

PS: Don't want this to sound like a rant. I'm looking for actual suggestions if anything. I'm on SEA server.
