I joined a small company as a senior ML lead. The product is a chat application where trained executives respond to domain specific questions using a knowldge bank. I was hired to bring in AI based suggestions and capabilities to ease the executives' workflow (not replace them).

I designed a minimal featured system to start with that can respond to 'easy' queries using stuff like intent recognition, topic detection, search and RAG on the small knowledge base. It wasn't perfect but it worked and was a huge help for the executives.

They now hired another engineer to help move faster with adding more features, but this guy turned out to be prompt engineering rocks - vibe coder type. Strong

Sorry if this is long. I've been an NLP Research Engineer with heavy focus on the research part for the initial 9 yrs of my career (even got some publications).

Then I got a FAANG SDE job with the promise that I will be building ML infra and training models for a new product feature. Not research engineer, but it was fine with me. Only that never happened due to reorgs and new priorities. Instead, I mostly ended up doing backend work. Whenever I brought up the promise stating this is not what I signed up for, I always got the response 'You are a Senior Dev, you should look at the bigger product impact'. This has been going on for 3 years with more reorgs and team changes so there's been pr

I'm a very casual player and I've been playing for about a year on and off. I've tried my best to learn from youtube and streamers about combos, movement, mindgames and all the other things. Of course I know I cannot execute everything perfectly, but I know when I play (as per my skill level) well and when I don't.

So starting around season 10, I've been playing Quick Match Trios almost exclusively and I had a lot of fun. Matches were fair, my damage numbers were okish for a casual like me and I was happy with how I was doing, winning once in a while. Around season 11 and 12, I started noticing my Trios matches were getting more and more difficult and my stats were getting worse.

38M, married and most of my friends have moved away and/or are busy with their lives. Looking for people to talk to and make new friends.

I'm a typical introvert but looking to change that. Trying to take interest in other people's lives and experiences. I get bored of things easily these days so have tried many things and dont mind talking about anything new.

I love Astrophysics, Gaming, Formula1, Cricket, EDM, Retrowave music, Kpop and at some point have also tried my hand at Chess, DnD, Board games (playing and making), Cooking, Roller Skating and lately I've been trying out Poetry writing. Oh and I work on AI for a living.

So a few years ago when I was in a bad mental state, I was looking for some new kind of music. Wasn't new to kpop, but then I discovered a trending group called Blackpink. The music was not bad, but Jisoo caught my eye immediately. This led me to watch more videos and I ended up liking the group more and more, but still focused around Jisoo.

Fast forward to now, I am big fan of the group and the music, Jisoo still the center of everything. I've heard of how hard they she had to work (everyone in kpop in general does, but still) to get to the top, how people criticized Jisoo early on, her caring personality etc and it is inspiring where she is now. I used this as motivation to work harder, d

Hi,

I picked this game up in the sale because I really like wuxia style games, but I have never played a cultivation game. After playing for about 6 hrs on different characters, I am now completely lost because so many things don't make sense.

  1. Getting the final breakthrough of the 1st level is so hard. So much grinding for the elemental Qi and then for the treasure. After 2.5 years of game time, I could only manage 1 Water Qi. And this is just the 1st level!

  2. Since I'm stuck at the 1st level, grinding elemental areas or big dungeons is just doing a few runs then going to town to get healing items and repeat. I'm just going back and forth.

  3. The quests are sometimes impossible. O

Fairly new player here, reached lvl 45 playing mainly easy and medium bot modes, mixed with Quick match solo, Bloodbath and Capture the Spirit well.

I've gone through some weapon combo videos, practiced movement from some videos (execution could be better) and generally 'know' what I'm supposed to do.

But I am not able to do it in actual fights. I feel like I am not fast enough, my fingers work independently from my brain and there's so much going on that I am not able to process and just default to auto-pilot. I really like this game and want to get better, but dont know how. I could just keep going at it, but I'm worried I might just end up developing bad habits instead of improving.

I picked up AOW3 during this summer sale and have been having a blast. While the gameplay is great, I found the combat to be just amazing.

I wanted to check there are any mods/scenarios that make you start with one or more heroes, decent army for each and then just go around exploring camps, or climbing levels of a tower for example (PvE mode basically).

I know I can always adjust settings in custom scenario, but sometimes don't want to spend turns build and managing my empire.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I really like theorycrafting and mix and match, but run out of patience when making one full playthrough with the same build. I am wondering if there are games where I can try out different builds in every playthough or where the playthough themselves are very short (matches if multiplayer) and independent. Action-based games preferred.

Some examples of games I tried so far and issues:

Dota2 and League: Games can be upto an hour long, steep learning curve

Nioh2, Code Vein: Great build diversity, but a single playthough can be long and intense.

Grim Dawn and other ARPGs: Same as above, only more casual

Tekken, DOA and other Fighters: Short game sessions but no build diversity

MMOs:

I just purchased this yesterday (i7-10750H, 16GB RAM, RTX 2060) and the first game I tried was Shadow of the Tomb Raider on high settings. I noticed a significant increase in the fan noise and and the Armoury crate showed temperature of 75-77 C just after the game starts when I Alt-Tab.

I am new to dedicated gaming laptops and have no clue what temperature/fan speed is normal and when I should be worried and check with the store. How do I tell if something is wrong in the future?

I read some boss rankings articles, so was really looking forward to this boss fight. A lot of folks seem to complain, but >!Bladebearer and Cannoneer!< has to be the best boss fight ever! The setting, the music, the build switching and the difficulty spike.

And the satisfaction you get when you finally come through. Took me 25 something tries and after I was done, I just sat for a few minutes to absorb the fun I just had. Looking forward to the next playthrough already!

This is where Waifu Souls became Code Vein.

And I agree!

Sorry for this post, just wanted to share how awesome this game is.

I have been in the data science/machine learning research industry for almost 10 years now. Astronomy has mostly been a hobby, but I am now looking for ways to apply my skills to the problems in astronomy/astrophysics seriously. I've played with some kaggle astronomy datasets to get my hands dirty and even looked at some papers on astro-ph arxiv. Although my background is lacking, I can definitely follow the 'data modeling' and 'prediction' parts of the papers. Still, I am obviously overwhelmed and lost.

I have started reading to build the theoretical background, but where do I go from here? How can I even begin to make a useful contribution to the field in the long run?

Any pointers or s

I am sorry if these types of questions have already been posted. I started playing about 12 days ago (europe) and I'm current level 38 Captain. I am mostly f2p having bought only the monthly crystal pack. I've unlocked a few valkyries and explored a lot of the different stages/challenges but cant get a hang of how to proceed.

The valkyries I most enjoy are Blood Rose(lvl 37 - favorite), Flame Sakitama(lvl 35) both S rank, Shadow Dash (lvl 32), Valkyrie Gloria (lvl 32), Valkyrie Ranger(lvl 30) and Swallowtail Phantasm(lvl 30) all A rank. But after reading around a bit (many guides are outdated), it seems most of these Valkyries are not great maybe with the exception of Swallowtail Phantasm
